http://radio.thescore.com/episodes/the-fight-show-april-19-2011 skip to 26 mins got this from the 'live fights' forum. says he couldnt call hennesy his promoter as he did not promote him and it seems hennesy is after froch's cash. This interview really doesnt show Hennesy in a good light! Also says his next fight will likely be on sky.
cheers, cant take the credit as i found it on another forum. I was reallu surprised with what froch had to say about mick, they always seemed like friends and that seemed to be the only reason why froch put up with him. I always seemed to think that hennesy was a **** promoter but a good bloke, seems like i only got the first bit right.
Though he was quite restrained when talking about Hennesey TBH, if Mick had an ounce of decency he would let it go instead of getting trying to hold him back and cost him more money.
Yeah, you could tell that he was trying to stop himself having a rant about Mick. He's right that he hasn't been promoted too - I'm not sure how much Hennessy has made out of him but it's been earned under false pretences.
Mick was telling sky hey could only get froch if there was another load of his fight cards on sky etc.
That just sounds to me like Sky wanted Froch but not the baggage that went with it. Hennessy talks a good game and for a short spell delivers - when he first got the ITV deal he made a couple of really good shows, then when it was extended the matches got worse..... we had Lenny Daws in the most boring ten rounder I've ever seen followed by Junior Witter vs some Argentine who took a dive. Why not stick them in against each other? He should have made Murray vs Thaxton way earlier - when Thaxton won the European and Murray held the British the timing was right. Not after Jon had lost two more fights and looked bloody awful doing it. There should have been Barker in good matches instead of lagging behind Wayne Elcock, who was soon taken out in style by Macklin. The list goes on.... and on..... and on. At the end of the day Froch is the man - the best British fighter, the best British fighter to watch too. It's criminal if he's kept away from the largest audience because of a greedy/inept promoter or other issues. As for Mick, he's made some mistakes and he looks to have paid dearly for them. **** happens.
:good Froch equals value for money - win, lose or draw He comes to fight, always in shape, always motivated - British, Irish, American, Euro - if you are a boxing fan how can you not like him (although he does sometimes fight awkward, off balance and ugly) but the win column says that dont matter!
