Froch's not going anywhere near Kovalev. He's not gonna act like he might wanna fight Kovalev. If he did, he would apologize to Kovalev and beg his forgiveness.

Kovalev hasn't proven he is a PPV draw yet and Chavez Jr has, he did 475,000 buys against Martinez and more recently in his rematch against Vera he did numbers higher than Kovalev has ever done even against Hopkins.

If Chavez Jr can bring in more fans against someone like Vera than Kovalev can in a unification fight with an ATG then it's pretty obvious which fight in the more lucrative.

Excellent point. When has he ever said he wants to move up. He's a light super middle as well, comes in between 171-173lbs. He'd be dwarfed by Kovalev who would easily be 10lbs heavier, probably more I believe he was 188lbs against BHop, that's a 15-17lbs difference.

Froch did promise Pascal a rematch after he beat him. Pascal still wants him to honour that promise as well. He wants a rematch against Froch or B-Hop after the Kovalev fight, assuming he gets by Kovalev that is, although I'm sure he would still want it regardless if he wins or loses.

Froch did say he would give him a rematch at 175 if he won a belt up there.

Chavez has fought on ppv all of one time and it wasn't exactly a record breaking performance. Kovalev is a bigger name in the sport right now. He can fight Chavez if he wants but it isn't going to get much interest

Kovalev is a pretty decent known fighter. A win over Pascal would increase even more his profile stocks.:yep

Also Froch would fight for the super WBA and IBF LHW titles.

    Froch's height&reach : 6′ 1″/ 185cm ; 75″ / 191cm

    Kovalev's height&reach: 6′ 0″/183cm ; 72½″/184cm

    :hey

If Chavez beats Fonfara then he's legit at 168 for Froch to fight, even though the fights at 172. Fonfara's a top contender at 175 who gave Stevenson a tough fight and Froch would have been off for over a year.

I'd watch and it would def enhance his legacy capturing a belt at 175.

Doesn't seem like Froch is hugely interested in anything but a payday though and he isn't a massive smw on the decline so would be risky, only way I could see it is if Chavez loses and Pascal pulls the upset. They have talked about a return at 175 before and they still seem quite freindly, think they sparred a few times since their fight.

If Froch did take Kov on at 175 I would strongly fancy the krusher but my respect for Froch would go even higher just for taking the fight. If only more boxers had Carl's attitude toward making the best fights.

yeah. people need to accept that were it not for this nice vegas ppv pay-off opportunity, froch would already be retired.

If they would be fighting at 175 then maybe for a big pot of cash but 175lb fighters don't fight at 175 do they , they are to big for froch

You and five Mexicans can go ahead and order this mismatch. I will go ahead and save my cash, would be a decent hbo fight but that is about it
