I think Froch is a fighter where he can have excellent performances and terrible performances.
I have often felt that Froch attempting to win world titles and rematching is a different fighter to what Froch can be just defending.
Look at how Froch performs with no title and looking to win a world title in performances against Pascal, Abraham and Bute and then look at some of Frochs defences which you note.

The Adamu fight I felt could have gone either way.

Pascal was a close fight but I felt Froch won.

Froch was in my opinion behind against Taylor before the late win, but some of that could have been down to nerves with Froch being away, and Froch was able to weather the early storm and win.

Dirrell fight was also close but I think Dirrell lost that fight more than Froch won it. It was a fight where I think Dirrell could have won but didnt.

Kessler 1, I scored clearly for Kessler, but I do think Froch had Kessler badly hurt in what I think was the 5th round. It was a fight where I felt Froch could have won but seemed a bit lazy (what I was saying about Froch defending and contesting)

Johnson was a close fight where I think Froch was only doing enough rather than winning clearly, but I felt Froch won.

Ward, I think fought a very fatigued Froch who had been on the road for 5 of his last 6 fights. I thought that Ward/Froch was a close fight where many rounds were close but scored for Ward.
I didnt think it was a good convincing performance for either and didnt feel either would have faired well that night with some of the top SMWs of yesteryear

Kessler 2, I thought Froch was a clear winner and felt it was a good performance from Froch.

Groves 1, I had Groves winning and felt the stoppage was far too quick. I didnt think Groves was close to being stopped and felt that Groves would have gone on to win a decision but with the rematch there was no question about the result and Froch won that one. (what I was saying about Froch defending and contesting)


Froch does have a very good win over undefeated SMW champ Bute and that was a great performance.

I think Froch gets highly rated somethimes on here, by fans wanting to build up Ward, but no denying Froch has had a very good career in his own right winning WBC WBA IBF SMW titles and holds a win over the current WBO champ.
That is impressive

 

Froch had a tough fight with B Magee.
Sometimes a top fighter can have a tough fight on the way up

 

Froch is soooooo overrate. JCCJ would stopped him if they fought.

Ran from to fight Hopkins, the same Hopkins who in turn would of beaten Froch.

So whilst Calzaghe was fighting Hopkins, Froch was fighting Rybacki lol yet Calzaghe was running scared.
