Froch shows Khan how to lose with dignity

HUGE respect for Froch on how he handled the loss.

No excuses, nothing about his nose, etc.

Class. Great job by both fighters tonight.

if you think the points are "controversial", Take away all the points including the controversial knockdown and it's still an even fight, more or less. Khan handled it like a ***** and even tried to get the decision overturned.

 

What exactly was so childish that Amir said about Kell? As far im aware Kell is the childish attention seeking one. Constantly calling Khan out and disrespecting him. Brook needs to step up and fight some decent callibre opponents.

Froch clearly lost. Khan - Peterson was going Khan's way way, but the DC referee decided to ensure it went to the DC fighter. Hence, Khan was upset and clearly understandable.

It was crystal clear he wouldn't give Brook any credit and his face was tripping him when they were talking about Brook.

And Rico,the point here is Khan is a classless loser and that can't be disputed,no one's talking about what he did or didn't say about Froch.It's about how they acted after losing.

Yeah, well Khan didn't really lose according close to half of the community, frustration kicks in when you feel you were cheated, not that I wanna excuse Amir because I don't care, Froch was classy, he wasn't. But where Froch was dominated, Khan had every right to feel he won as the close cards favored Peterson in his hometown.

 

You mean like the class Froch showed in his defeat to Kessler?

I agree.Khan had every right to feel his fight could have went either way.Froch was almost shut out.But a close fight does not equate to a formal protest or shouting about hometown decisions when he made such a big noise about going into LP's backyard.
Froch was foolish to talk the way he did after Kessler.There is a difference here though,a close fight does not equal robbery and Khan was shell shocked when they told him on Ringside that 70% of viewers thought he lost.Was the roughly the same amount in Boxing News.Two British institutions.:think

 

Good post. Although I'm not excusing Khans whingeing, to hold Froch up as some sort of model on classiness is silly.

 

As gracious as Froch was last night, we should not forget that he did have a hissy fit after his close fight against Kessler. Last night Froch got schooled and would be hard pushed to come up with an excuse to justify that, just like Khan didn't when he was wiped out in 1 by Prescott. Therefore if we're going to compare post fight behaviour, we should compare the Ward fight with the Prescott fight (one sided), and compare the Kessler and Peterson fights (close). Those are far more comparable.

However, Khan's behaviour since the Peterson loss has been far worse than Froch's after the Kessler fight to me. It's been pretty shocking and really altered my opinion of him.

Things I would think were completely acceptable from Khan following his close loss:
- Feeling aggrieved
- Having a moan about the points being deducted

Things that he's done which are unacceptable:
- not given due credit to Peterson
- blamed the city of Washington for his loss
- refused to acknowledge his own weaknesses
- completely lied about the fight to anyone who would listen (not being warned/Peterson headbutting him intentionally)
- hit out at the British press for saying they thought he lost

Obviously it's a only week out from the fight, so it's going to be a sore subject - but I find a lot of the things to be pretty inexcusable as they've been outright lies.

 

Yeah it's worrying that he is not looking at his own failings as a fighter and just blaming the ref. If that's his attitude then he will face another loss soon, even a KO loss. And he shouldn't be responding to cowards on twitter. He's now 25 FFS not a 17 yo kid.
