Carl taking on the most heavily hyped fighter in boxing would do huge numbers over here. There are numerous angles that would give that fight a broad appeal. That's why Eddie was and remains so keen to make that fight.

The prob is that Carl sees it as a difficult fight that he might not only lose but lose badly. Is it worth the risk at this point in his life? No but his ego won't allow him to keep his mouth shut. If he genuinely believed he would win handily he would have taken the fight when it was offered.
