By the way, with regards to Froch's defence. Virtually EVERY fighter who carries his lead hand low is supposed to have a 'poor defence' and is a accident waiting to happen. But when a more conventional 'hands up' fighter gets knocked out, no one suggests he may have a poor defence!!

It's less a matter of his hand being low and more a matter of him getting hit a lot, even by guys like Reid, David...just watch the fight...would you say his defense was good? Or is it that he has an iron chin and doesn't need to worry about getting hit?

If Froch is so bad, why is Frank Warren desperate to sign him????? He has made several attempts??????

His low left is to encourage his opponent to attack.

And yes i think he has iron jaw.

Froch was trying to take Reid to round 8. at 12/1.

Iv never heard a Calzaghe fan say Joe should just KO froch and shut him up. All i hear are excuses. And then buy tickets to see Ashira and Manfredo. WTF?????????

The main reason Froch is looking to fight Joe is to make more money in one night than in his entire career previously and subsequently. The second reason is because he wants to talk himself up, to get fans to pay to see him against shot Reid in the expectation that it will lead to him fighting Joe. The third is that he can fight Euro-class opponents while claiming he is waiting for Joe, who is ducking him, instead of stepping it up...Well, all these excuses and ruses won't wash anymore. Froch does not deserve to fight Joe because

    1. He is not a name.
    2. He does not have a resume.
    3. He is not American.
    4. He wouldn't help sell the fight.
    5. He wouldn't do anything for Joe's legacy.

There is not one good reason why Joe should have fought him instead of Manfredo. There is certainly no reason to fight him now.

Froch knows it's last chance saloon in 2008. Only fans who don't understand this go on about Joe. Froch needs to go for a title fight in 2008, not to fight shot oldies /bums whilst shouting he is the best and calling out Calzaghe...

A footballer coming back from knee surgery would probably play the last ten minutes of a game, a boxer doesn't have that kind of luxury.
As for anyone saying that Froch doesn't deserve a shot at JC, well I'd consider him far more worthy than Manfredo.

I wish Froch all the best, health-wise...I want him to be in top shape in Spring, so that he can fight for a title. Then, we'll know how good he is!:good

Yes, but things have changed a lot since Joe decided to fight Kessler...and even more since he beat Mikkel...Froch would have been a much more worthy oponent than Manfredo, but now, he isn't compared to the people Joe is considering.

I agree, he defence isn't the best, but it's not as bad as some say. And certainly a low lead doesn't automatically=a poor defence.

Watching the fight again I'm convinced that Froch allowed Reid to hit him with the big lunging overhand right slung from the back of the hall. Even a rank amateur would have seen that punch coming. Froch made no attempt whatsoever to even ride with the punch

Why would he do that? To show Reid cannot hurt him? This is precisely the problem...Froch has no head movement and he gets hit a lot. He banks on KOing the guys but the top in the division will outbox him and not let him get too close...he won't be able to KO the whole division...
