Froch-Taylor: Purse bid on Jan. 9!

Taylor would stand to make more money fighting Kessler ... thats a big event and both can stand to make some nice money ...

 

Yes, but if you're the investing type, you have to think that a Taylor/Kessler matchup down the road would make far more money, assuming that in the interim Taylor establishes himself at SMW (like by getting a belt) and Kessler gets more U.S. exposure.

 

If this goes to bid, I doubt the fight happens. It really depends on how much pressure the WBC puts on Taylor and whether Taylor cares. The WBC almost made it mandatory for him to fight Froch instead of Lacy but backed off. I seem to remember some 'now or never' type ultimatum, but the WBC backed off. My take on this is the WBC knows how much Taylor can bring the WBC and really want him as champ again. After all, Taylor had ZERO fights at 168 and they offered him a title shot his first fight at that weight. Personally, I'd rather see Kessler/Taylor.
