Yeah, but on the other hand, Froch has the bigger waist. I think this fact is often ignored and could prove pivotal.
Damn, Taylor has some skinny ****ing legs. The measurements are inconsequential. The size of your biceps or chest dont win you a fight.
There's no arm length measurement. Arm length is more important than over all reach. JT obviously has the bigger chest and shoulders, and that gets measured as part of over all reach. Taylor had a 3" over all reach advantage over Pavlik, but Kelly has the longer arms. That's part of the reason JT could not win the jabbing contest against Pav. All in all there isn't a nickels worth of size difference between Taylor and Froch.
You may be right. Power punching is rooted in the legs and in the pivot of the punch. hence the terms "sitting into your punches", or alternatively "didnt have his feet planted"
Pavlik was similar to Froch in this regard. Taylor had the bigger measurements from the waist up. Pavlik was 'sturdier' from there down. OK, not sure about waist, but legs, etc.... quick edit, could also be an indication of the roadwork, where JT has been known to come up short.
People always forget that. The traditional way of measuring reach is lousy as hell. A guy can have a wider back but shorter arms, but according to the measurement he has a reach advantage. HBO does it, right they measure from the armpit to the end of the fist.
18'' thighs? i am 185 pounds and have 23,5 inch thighs. many boxers have chicken legs though, which is odd, doesn't the punching power come from a strong foundation?
