Seems to me Froch wants to lure Calzaghe into a fight.

Too bad it ain't gonna happen. Joe fights Jones, probably wins and then retires. The only thing that would make him consider another fight would be a loss to Jones, which I don't think is very likely to happen.

If that's true, then he really is retiring. Calzaghe claims he doesn't do rematches and a fight with Dawson makes no sense for him at this stage in his career.

Joe Calzaghe is a doomed fighter. If he fights and beats Dawson, he just beat a hype job. There will be threads entitled, "Dawson is a bum", "Dawson is overrated". We saw it on Saturday night after the Mijares defeat. If he fights Bernard again, it'll be a close fight because Bernard is to crafty to ever get dominated. As a result, everybody will claim Hopkins won the fight. Joe doesn't have anywhere to turn, and never did.

BTW, Welshman, you left out the AP and Iole, and ducked right into just Rafael.. Do you want to know the difference between Dan Rafael, Kevin Iole, the Associated Press, myself - and the overwhelming majority of fans and members of the media? The people in the first group are willing to score a fight for the boxer who actually won, and not just the guy we picked going into it.. It's a curious thing with most of the fans and writers - they have a funny way of seeing a fight outcome in favor of who they picked to win ahead of time. Strange phenomena.. :rofl

I read it on BBC this morning and took it for what it was...a lame attempt to get some attention.
It seems as though it is you that is hanging on every possible thread in order to rewrite the record books.

Calzaghe won on 2 out 3 scorecards of American judges in America on his first fight on US soil at his first outing at 175.
Adelaide Bird was almost as much of a disgrace as Joe Cortez that night.

I thought Calzaghe won it clearly. I've seen plenty of controversial fights but that was not one of them. Froch knows that he's nowhere on Calzaghe's radar for a potential fight so he's gonna just keep stirring things up until Calzaghe takes notice, which will never happen.

This will go the way of Hatton/Witter as Calzaghe will go about his business fighting big names while paying absolutely no attention to Froch. Carl should focus on Jean Pascal and stop worrying about Calzaghe.

You don't sound the least bit objective, Welshman. Should I be surprised?

Those threads come up when a highly touted fighter gets dominated by a supposedly inferior opponent. Most would pick Calzaghe to win, so I doubt the scenario you described would play out.

I don't know about that, a good amount of people maintain that Calzaghe won the first fight. The people that say that Hopkins won that fight generally get ridiculed.

I had it for Hopkins. Calzaghe's ineffective pressure didn't win it for me. If anything Hopkins lost it for himself due to his workrate. Oh and I'm white if you guys are still arguing over that.

The scoring of any fight is obviously subjective and I can deal with people who feel people that hopkins won the fight.
It is when I see posters constantly berate Calzaghe whatever he does that gets on my tits, and with all respect you seem to be somebody that is always picking holes.

So first Hopkins won...but then he lost it?

Meaning he lost it for himself more than Calzaghe won it.
