I've seen him fight too, good chin, good power, gets hit too easily & has **** footwork. Sounds like someone else Joe beat mercilessly. Sorry but I don't think it is okay for him to be calling out Joe the way he is. He should have a lot more respect for someone that has achieved a lot more than him. He's a wanker & theres no-one I want to see take a beating more than him. Hopefully Kessler will stay at 168 & do the job.

yer could not agree more about his **** footwork, and the way he drops his hands is never going to work for me. but my point was that he has to big himself up in order to get the big fights. but even so like you say, kessler would certainly do the job and too be honest it would be interesting to see how the cobra acts to that:good

I remember Froch trying to dupe the fans on Sky Sports by saying 'I want Joe Calzaghe im willing to go up to LHW to get him'. As if he has the clout at SMW for a fight let alone LHW!

It's like John Duddy when he was getting his head snapped back at every turn by that Candian club fighter and saying between rounds 'im trying to impress' these *******s are trying to dupe people that do not have an indepth knowledge of boxing!

Point is, its laughable. I once heard Froch state that he only say's these things to get noticed, to get Calzaghes attention. Perhaps if he actually fought someone of any worth and maybe grabbed a belt, then maybe he would get Calzaghes attention.

Thing is, I don't think he is scared, its just his promoter is **** at getting the big fights. Worry not though. He will soon be WBC title holder and we will then get to see Kessler beat the snot out of him.

It will be a reality shortly. JC will vacate, I expect Froch will beat the hugely limited Berrio. I don't think Froch is scared and I do think he wants to make a name for himself, so unification with the man who will likely be WBA title holder and pretty much the consensus number 1 in the division would make alot of sense.

It's a fight im desperate to see.

I was under the impression Kessler was moving to 175.

Well, I have myself heard conflicting reports. One minute I heard he was going up to LHW to fight for the WBA, the next that hes fighting Miranda, then he's fighting Mundine then hes not because Mundine is going to 160 but then that he would be going for the WBA at 168 recently...

In fairness, im slightly out of touch: been run off my feet with exams for the 3 weeks. I still suspect that Kessler will stay at 168, theres some good fights still out there for him and hes more than capable of cleaning up the division.

In my opinion I think it would be a better move for him to stay at 168 & clear up, however, the dangling carrot of a possible fight with Jones for the vacant WBA must have been tempting. If, however, Jones now intends to fight Joe, which appears to be his preference, then a move to 175 doesn't make a lot of sense given most of the big names will be retired soon.

Joe's next move has wider implications for a lot of fighters. It will be very interesting to see how things transpire from 160 to 175 over the next year.

Indeed. Has Jones expressed any interest whatsoever in fighting Kessler even if it is for a vacant title? For me, it seems almost certain that Calzaghe will take on Jones. Its a money spinner and a low risk bout imo to boot. I also get the feeling that JC recognises that he is in decline physically himself and this might dictate his matchmaking. He will not fight Dawson of that much im certain: high risk and particularly after his last mediocre showing, low reward. We all know what the revisionists would say if JC took that fight and won.

Who is froch???? he thinks hes gonna be a superstar. hes such an average fighter.. he lacks star quality, he looks like a bus driver

calzaghe would outclass him with no problem

Fact is that Calzaghe is chasing money and not dangerous opponents. He gambled on fighting Lacy and Kessler and now is in a position to earn a good few million. Fair enough.

Froch is a more dangerous opponent than Roy Jones or Bernard Hopkins?
