Froch turning pro late shouldnt be an excuse...That just means he should have stepped up his comp that bit faster. But he didnt.

Hes a joke and any time his name is mentioned to Calzaghe he laughs, and rightly so.

Its not that cut and dried though is it? If his promoter was Warren his career ledger would be even worse. As for being mentioned along side Joe thats Carls own fault. His ego is simply annoying. But i guess it sells himself through his own notriety.

Aparently we cant argue that he has unbeleivable powerr and a great chin, well frankly unless he fights a world rated fighter that is stil a question mark.

With a more influential manager, Froch couldve been a world champ by now or atleast had a shot or got a better replacement for Inkin. Hennesey has done nothing but underachieve since he arrived on the scene. We are still arguing on how good Froch could be, well he has to be atleast 30 now and a title shot still seems an age away. He has got to the WBC number 1 position by luck only!

Froch would be on his arse against a cheater as well.

It was Hopkins going for holding that put Joe off balance after the right hand anyway.

Froch has no chance since he would be coming to fight and box unlike Hopkins.

I meant that Calzaghe proved himself the best at super middle by beating the only two decent fighters at the weight in Lacy and Kessler. The division only now looks competative because the guy who was head and shoulders above the rest has moved up. The super middle division is packed with decent talent and very competative but no real class. Calzaghe has earned his shot of making some American money so he can make big fights against the big names. Win or lose against Hopkins and RJJ he is making a fortune. If decided to stay and fight Froch and the rest of the super middles no one would give a **** and he would not be counting the millions. And his age will catch up with him. At light heavy fighting RJJ he thinks he can make $20 million so he will be happy to retire on that, at super middle he would be lucky to earn $2 million fighting those guys and eventually one would beat him.

Yes that's true, Joe took a gamble with world recognised title holders, fighting a 31yr old British champ is going so far backwards it's not even funny.
What I do find funny though is how Froch has been calling Joe out since before the Lacy fight, 2 years ago (he went quite anonymous for a few months after this fight and after the Kessler fight :huh) and is still yet to fight a live opponent.
Naseem Hamed was more likeable than Froch.

I get the feeling that some of you on here are just waiting for Froch to fall flat on his face. :bart

It's hilarious that many of the posters in here defending Calzaghe for ducking Froch (who has called Calzaghe out) are the very ones who have been absolutely slating Hatton relentlessly for months over avoiding Witter (who similarly called him out).

Confidence is one thing but Froch really doesn't make it easy to like him. Couldn't believe that after the Calz-Kessler fight he said he wouldn't be interested in Kessler because Calz had now beaten him. Like he's suddenly a bigger shot than Kessler!!! Cazlaghe and Kessler would both beat him easily. I've seen his fights and his workrate and lack of lateral movement would see him get knocked out by Kessler and beaten silly for 12 rounds by Calzaghe

Hatton deserves stick for never fighting Witter. Froch deseves ridicule for calling Calzaghe out without first fighting a world class opponent.
Pretty straightforward when you think about it.

The difference being: Witter is a proven beltholder and the biggest threat to Hatton in the division, and has been for quite a while, and Hatton promissed he'd fight him and it's the fight the whole of Britain wants to see, whereas Froch is a prospect who has never fought world-class opposition yet...and no one wants to see this fight...

Kessler would do a better job in that respect! He'd stop him. Calzaghe would just lacy him.
