Looks like Carl Froch as narrowed it down to two opponents, either Hopkins in Las Vagas or Bute in Nottingham. http://www.eastsideboxing.com/news.php?p=20053&more=1 Gotta hand it to him, he's willing to get in there and fight the best and not duck anyone. Personally I'd like him to fight Bute and grab a title, I think HOpkins would be too slick for him at the moment.
With Hopkins he doesn't have a chance. At least with Lucian he does.Hopefullt it happens on september the 5th. The O2 Arena right? What's the capacity on that baby?
i think he is the underdog of course in both fights....but he has a better chance against hopkins imo....but bute did have the andrade fiasco were he DID get ko'd in the 12th....hmmmm sounds like froch vs taylor replay
I think with good hype by Showtime, some interesting back and forth between the camps and at least a small countdown of sorts they could sell out. Nice arena btw.
Bute could pack a stadium with very good ticket prices, I still don't know what's the point doing it in the UK, at 3AM.
Froch would get massacred by Hopkins worse than Pavlik. I could see him getting stopped. If they do the 170 catchweight Hopkins will be almost 190 come fight night. With Froch's sloppy punching and nonexistent defence Hopkins will batter him senseless.
I'd root for Froch in the Hopkins fight. He won't beat Bernard, but deserves the support for the Taylor comeback.
Fair play to him. I also read in BM that he trying to get a figth with Kessler but Kessler's ongoing court battle is preventing him from fighting. Hope he gets the fight he wants.
****, Bute is 50-50 ( Froch gets the edghe if its at home ) but Hopkins is a horrible fight for him. Seems like a no win
I can't see any possible way for Froch to beat Hopkins. Bute is a more interesting one - his late collapse against Andrade could be an ominous harbinger for the Froch fight but you can't just ignore how well he boxed for the majority of the fight. Froch will probably be an underdog in both fights but his willingness to fight the best is commendable.
I doubt Froch can bring enough $$$ to the table for Hopkins. BHOP would be the favorite but he is 44 or 45 so you never know when age will catch up to him. Bute-Froch is 50/50 and I think this is the fight we will see in September (hopefully on HBO).
see i think froch is better then pavlik....and i think froch would murder pavlik if they fought.....but that being said, hopkins could easily make froch look like his fight against pavlik, but you never know at 44/45 hopkins will all of a sudden go off a cliff, froch is hungry.....and i think if froch caught bute he would go down late.....i think a "pressure style" fighter can beat bute, "take some to dish out some" but i froch is not that fighter.
