According to an article in the independent, CF plans on spending time with a psychologist prior to the rematch. A good move or clear sign of mental weakness?
Good move, this is a big fight, high stakes, psychology is definitely going to play a big part so why not get some help in that area. Wouldn't surprise me if Groves is doing exactly the same. All the big teams/individuals in sport are getting introduced to mindfulness techniques and different ways of dealing with high stress situations. It's nothing unusual for professional sports people to take this approach before a big sporting event.
His theory is that he lost his head in the first fight and wants to box more second time round. Riiiiiiight. If he keeps his head and tries to box second time round, he'll eat more jabs and right hands than Angulo did against Canelo.
Very good move for him, steve peters has been at liverpool for a year and look at how that's gone. Just needs a public speaking coach and froch will be good
i just know stuff i am a human genius, and the booing has destroyed froch...he cannot get his head around it, and to an extent it is no wonder?a guy who has fought everyone all around the world gets booed v a guy who has done nothing typical english
I didn't realise a sports psychologist will help fix the numerous technical flaws his has. Maybe now he'll develop hand speed, foot speed and an ability not to get smashed on his ****ing huge conker on a regular basis?
:rofl:rofl:rofl In fairness the psychologist might be able to help Froch be at his best during the fight and in the mind games before the fight (and if it's true, the fact that Froch needs a psychologist shows that Groves' mind games worked), but this post was funny as hell.
definitely needs one, hes getting embarrassed daily, by a guy who looks like slappy the dummy from the goosebumps books, sure to knock your confidence.
I'm sure its quite common but I doubt broadcasting it is a good idea. whatever the positives are there are many that will see it as a weakness, that Carl is having trouble coping mentally. True or not it suggests he needs help and is not able to deal with it on his own. I'm not saying thats the case personally, its obviously common for sportsmen to get this kind of support but in a grudge fight like this people will automatically give groves the edge after hearing these stories. Not that it matters I guess, unless the jibes further disturb his mental focus. It seems like he might have trouble accepting criticism, who knows? Problem is that a lot of the negative stuff is his own doing, his brother probably needs more therapy.
