Froch v AA

I think he'll do ok too. I believe it'll be his easiest fight of the tournament. He needs to take advantage of Abraham's slow start early on and hurt him, then fight the rest of the rounds using his reach and great jab. A late stoppage may come.

 

I don't think Froch punches often enough to stop Abraham. Froch is physical but his work-rate does not blow you away. Sure he will outwork AA but who doesn't, but actually break him down and stop him? I doubt it. He doesn't counter either and thats the only time you get a clear look at AA.

A lot comes down to how Froch evades and takes AA's punches. Simple as that. There is no doubt Froch can get the rounds in the bank. But when AA turns up the heat and lets his own punches go, thats what will decide the fight. It is difficult to say, I think AA punches quite a bit harder punch for punch compared to Kessler, Taylor, Dirrell etc. I'm quite sure of that. All of them are have hurt him at one point or another so its a big ask.

 

The reason I see Arthur winning is this: guys feel that Arthur's activity means they're having success against him. They get confident and stand in front of him, then open up. Arthur waits, he times it, he explodes. They get flattened or seriously hurt.

Froch gets cocky when he feels he's in control. He'll open up. Arthur will flatten him.

 

AA has the power to stop him, and will be seriously pissed off after his last fight, AA stoppage win.

 

I disagree in a way. Sure tonight that was true, but against Taylor (yes we all know he's bad stamina wise later on) and Pascal, it was his workrate/output later on that at least partly won him those fights - I really don't think we were questioning his output in those fights, something was just a little different tonight.

 

as soon as i heard froch had abraham in the third round i thought the fight would go one of these 2 ways, froch can have the first 6 rounds in the bag thanks to abraham being a slow starter, but froch then has two options box clever get on his bike and stink out the last few rounds to a decision OR let his heat rule his head try an prove a point especially with this loss to kessler and get in a swingup with arthur looking for a knockout?

carls chin can only take so much and in a shootout with the starighter and harder punching abraham im picking him to stop froch.

 

It's another intriguing fight.

Frochs lack of defence is a concern. Abraham doesn't punch often, but he punches hard and accurate. However Froch will no doubt win rounds.

It's a toughie to predict. It could be classic war, or it could be a snoozefest. I think Froch will win a UD. However... the big intangeable here for me is how both men react to their first loss.

His output was pretty **** for the first half of the Taylor fight. He wasn't even in the fight at that point.

I feel like his work-rate against Pascal was similar to tonight. But obviously Pascal let him dictate with the jab in the middle of the fight and he banked rounds. He didn't get that luxury tonight because Kessler worked harder and keeping the pressure on whereas Pascal seemed to lose his way once Froch went from brawler to boxer.

Kessler outworked him tonight and Kessler is no punching machine. Kessler throws a standard amount of punches for a boxer puncher and Froch couldn't keep up with that pace seemingly.

I seem to remember how much people complained about his laziness domestically too before he arrived on the scene. It was one of the main criticisms of him.

 

I feel Froch will enjoy fighting AA, it will give him a chance to find the range early and to land some decent shots in the early rounds. Despite Froch being a slow starter he certainly isnt a slow a starter as AA. I thought Frochs jab looked pretty dominant at times tonight and this definitely needs to be employed with more authority.

I think Froch will take control in the first half of the fight and it will be an all out war with AA getting the better off Froch in the later rounds....dont know if AA can stop him yet, I will make up my mind later on

This would be a real fight,Froch proved beyond doubt he can trade with the best tonight.Arthur would not be able to **** about starting slow in this one,Froch will stay the course and still be banging at the last bell.Arthur is a very stubborn fighter who do not change what he does for anyone,the Dirrel fight showed this.From what we saw tonight Froch can and will take Arthur`s big shots and throw some big ones back.If it is going to happen i hope its 02 berlin if so im there.
