Froch is hungry for his old title

    By Shaun Brown

“A potential fight of the decade”, was how promoter Mick Hennessy described the upcoming Super Six World Boxing Classic contest between Carl Froch and Arthur Abraham on Nov 27 in Helsinki.
During the most recent media conference call for the contest which will be for the WBC Super-Middleweight title, it was clear that Abraham was wanting to do his talking in the ring. The German was asked about any advantages he feels he may have over Froch. “The advantages lie inside my head, “ explained the German. “I don’t want too spend too much time talking, I’d rather do my talking in the ring.”
Both men lost their unbeaten records last time out against Mikkel Kessler and Andre Direll respectively. And questions were raised as to how both have handled the first losses of their careers. “I don’t feel like I’m a loser,” said Froch. “I didn’t feel like it was a bad enough fight (against Kessler) to knock me down a peg or two. I flew in for the fight way too late. I switched off both physically and mentally. If I was to have been beaten as badly and outclassed as he (Abraham) was in his last fight then I’d be worried. But I didn’t. I find this fight to be something of poetic justice for me. I put Kessler into retirement with that fight and now I‘m fighting for my old title”

I'm really looking forward to it, but don't forget that AA can be very frustrating to watch.

Always dangerous proclaiming fights as 'FOTY' before they've even happened let alone 'FOTD'.

Might not live up to expectations. Abraham might not fight for 5 rounds. Froch can be sloppy winding up those cartoon character shots and falling in. There might not be as many clean blows landed as anticipated here. Thats the worst case scenario, chances are it will be very good.

I agree with the FOTD comment, but I think this is one fight which will be action from start to finish. If AA waits 5 rounds to fight he will get KO'd.

Froch does not wait 12 seconds to start throwing, never mind 12 rounds, and AA will join in.

Two warriors will give their all, I am in Frochs corner support-wise, but I like AA as a guy too, I hope this is another war and may the best man win. I favour Froch 51% to AA's 49%!

Can't wait, fight of the tourney for me.

Carl Froch is going to Murked Abraham up, and beat him down in a war.

This is Abrahams first full contact boxing match, at supermiddle weight.

All of his other matches, have been semi-contact. And whenever his oponent started inflicting damage with body shots.....the German refs stopped his oponents in doing so.

Not sure about hyping a fight beforehand like earlier comment said, and if AA waits too long to throw he's going to get busted up.

But I can't see how he won't be forced to increase punch output from usual and Froch isn't the hardest to hit so bring it on.

Hell of a fight - if it goes to decision it´s hard to see AA win (can´t imagine that there is any major difference in AA´s style (peek-a-boo - very few jabs - puts everything on his power punches and goes for a KO).

If it goes to decision - 95 Froch 5 AA (I´ll jump off a building if AA wins on points)
    KO/TKO win - 55 AA 45 Froch

AA´s training camp has been good - he´s coming to Finland next sunday. His coach Ulli Wegner admits that the strategy planned for Dirrell -fight was a big mistake. According to him AA is going to be much more prepared in the night in which he´s going to knock out Froch. The smurf is ready to rumble!

Who gives a **** about Haye-Harrison farce anymore or what will Audrey do now or where Haye dares to fight since the possible FOTY is coming up?

I dont Froch's will to win is insane.

HE just needs to keep sensible he isnt as fast as Dirrell so if he doest want to work the body he has to pick his shots a little and not get cought with his chin out 'cause AA will rattle him and hes short sharp puncher.

That said if he Froch can get enough momentum going and use his size and reach i can see him just beating AA down - if Froch is ahead down the stretch this will be a war theres no other way it can go down. I dont hope he tries to box a bit and doesnt do the helipcopter lefthooks like he was doing against Kessler - Carls left hook isnt great so keep the jab right hand going and work from there

    CMON FROCH!
