Bute, the Canadian-based Romanian has agreed to the two-fight proposal from Froch's promoter Eddie Hearn. The first fight is projected for Montreal in April, the return at Nottingham Forest's City Ground in June or July. Froch said: 'That will be just fantastic. It's my dream.'

Hearn said: 'This must be the quickest and easiest deal we've done. We take the British end, they take the Canadian money and we split the rest 50-50, for both fights. Nice and simple.'

So either way they fight each other twice?

    That's odd.

Yeah I thought that. If one is dominant, perhaps the other won't want the 2nd fight. Though I doubt that will happen.

  6. Two men who like to fight. Both are winners already

Most deals have a rematch clause. not unusual

Carl's obviously cashing out....he's realizing that his power has gotten him as far as it was going to, and why not finally get paid big money especially with a two fight guarantee. So even if Bute brutally KOs him ( AND I PREDICT HE WILL) he still gets an immediate back to back $2-3 mil deal.

IMO, though, Froch will be getting step aside money in August so either Ward or Dirrel can take their beating from Bute and Carl can retire.:deal

    2 fight deal.

    Great great idea.

We saw in the Super 6 that noone ever lost at home. Being so important it is a great initiative. I hope many others do the same.

I wouldn't get the wanking started just yet guys. The Daily Mail is hardly renowned for it's boxing coverage, and I'm assuming it's Jeff Powell who wrote it.One of the few veteran UK boxing writers I have very little respect for.I'd be delighted if I'm wrong though.Really want this to happen.

Yeah,it's a well known fact that Carl is the kind of guy who does anything to avoid a big fight.I'm sure he'll just take the money and run.:patsch
    Total drivel.:nono

Lucain Bute-Carl Froch is a huge fight in the UK or Canada, that alone is one of the main reasons why this bout was more likely to happen than Ward-Bute.

Ward has the credentials on paper, but he doesn't have the type of marquee value needed to seriously attract someone like Bute away from home. You hear a lot of American fans complaining about guys like Lucain Bute who've never left their cocoon and ventured from home, but when there American counter-parts can't fill areas why should they leave.

Nonetheless, I applaud Bute for actually working to make a meaningful fight. We all he's talented and now its time to see if he can actually beat a top notch fighter.
