Froch v groves who won?

Totally agree - Spend all day saying saying froch would have KO him or groves would have got through it yawn !

Froch won end of and rematch would be good

 

The fight will always be remembered as groves flooring and beating froch up for 9 rounds an then it being abruptly stopped, that's how history will remember the fight. Froch won't be able to live with that an he'll take the rematch, I think groves will stop him, he'll be even more confident and froch that bit more battle worn.

 

The fight actually reminded me of the Eubank v Watson 2 fight.

Watson was boxing Eubanks ears off and then Eubank caught him and finished him off in round 12.

Difference was ref was very much the other way in this fight and let it carry on far too long

From another angle, Froch got floored by Groves and took everything Groves had to offer, Froch then stopped him in the ninth round. Regardless of Whether or not Groves belives the stoppage was fair, He was hurt badly by Froch and was really struggling in that 9th round, this will put a question mark over himself in regards to how he would have been able to last the final 3 rounds.

This is why the rematch must happen from a fans perspective, because as you say. Groves was winning the fight and making Carl look very slow at times add this to the points I make, and you now have IMO a genuine 50-50 for the rematch

 

I think a lot of people are misguided by Jim Watt's horrifically biased commentating.

I have Groves up by one round, and two points, when the fight was stopped. I think it's like when Pacquiao beat Marquez. Groves was the better fighter in the fight, as was Marquez, but in the 10 point scoring system, I had Froch just doing enough to take a few rounds, as I did with Pacquiao. People will tend to look at the fight as a whole, but you can EASILY give Froch a lot of those rounds, as you could with Groves.

I think in a rematch, it'll take Froch a little less time to get into the swing of things. He did it in round 7 in that fight, and I don't think he'd wait that long next time. At the same time, Groves will be training like a maniac to get his cardio in perfect condition to keep up the pace for a few more rounds next time, so it'd be hard for Froch.

The thing most people need to notice, is that Froch wasn't having an "off night". This is ALWAYS how he boxes, it just shines so hard when he manages to beat credible opponents. Imagine for a minute, I know it'll be a stretch, that Groves was Ward. If Froch could come back from such a brutal beating, to be doing what he was doing when it was stopped, people would be signing his praises for ages. People, myself included, just don't give respect to Groves because he never really fights until it's time to fight. Stick Groves in with a one punch KO super MW and he's toast. Kenny Anderson was screwed against him, and not long ago Paul Smith nearly took him out. Groves fights at the level of his opponent, so a lot of us slept on him coming into this one.

Froch was a dick in the post fight press conferance. I just wanted him to say "I can't be blamed for the judges decision. I thought I was about to finish it, but who knows? Maybe he'd have bounced back". Saying he thinks the fight should have been stopped is ridiculous, considering that he was at least 3 times worse off in the first round.
