Do you think Froch has learnt his lesson from his bout against Dirrell? The lesson being, not everyone comes for a brawl, not everyone is willing to stand toe to toe for 12 rounds. I know Froch wants to impress the crowds, he wants to show people he can take his opponents shots and come back with his own "stronger" shots. But this will only get you so far. Put him in with an elusive pot shotter, and Froch will miss. I was impressed by Dirrell, I'm not sure if it was his gameplan to stay on the back foot and counter, but it worked. Froch is up against Kessler next so it's a completely different clash than the one he had against Dirrell. But, if he can show something new in this upcoming bout, not just this come forward in straight lines, wild shots style he has adopted recently. If he could be patient and pick his shots, his chances of winning the Super 6 would no doubt increase.
Thats an interesting and generous way of describing Dirrells tactics that night. He didnt come to brawl and im not sure if he came to fight either.
I can't tell if this is sarcasm or not...:huh But yeah, Dirrell was on the back foot constantly. Whats even more worrying for Froch is that, Dirrell isn't even experienced at world level, yet he was able to give him trouble.
Froch is a fraud, and will get KO'd by Abrahams and Ward(if they meet). Kessler must be a good chance to KO Froch as well, but I am wondering if Kessler is mentally shot.
I think Abraham beats him. Froch Kessler, I'm 50/50 at the minute. Ward - he had a very good win over Kessler (excluding the fouls), but he was very open that night, Kessler just didn't/couldn't take advantage of it. I think it was more Kessler looked really bad that night, than Ward looking great. But I want to see him a couple more times to see how good he is.
I like Froch but he does have that Hatton feel about him in this sense: it always felt like with Hatton is that he had his style and his training was just a case of getting fit for the fight (pre Mayweather Sr) but like Froch it just feels like they both are never working on new things or learning from mistakes in previous fights. I have been saying since the Reid fight that Froch's footwork is to slow and there still is no improvement and he could learn to fight more effectively on the inside as Dirrell made him look like a slow robot when they got in close.
How is Froch a fraud? The guy finds a way to win and has ducked no one. He has stated on numerous occasions he is not interested in padding his record and wants to fight the best. Flawed fighter yes who could improve but FRAUD absolutely not!
Maybe overrated is a better word than Fraud then. He beat a shot Taylor and just beat a green Durrell, he will get schooled by the Super Middleweight elite, of which he is not part of.
