Spot on, Taylor looked in top shape, in the first 6 rounds especially. He looked sharp, quick and powerful. The problem with Taylor is that he's not a good finisher - he put no pressure on Froch after he dropped him, allowing Froch to get his senses clear and get his act together.

No way can people call Froch a fraud - look at his last 3 opponents (Jean Pascal, Jermain Taylor and Andre Dirrell). Look at his next 2 - Mikkell Kessler & Arthur Abraham. He's not exactly taking on tomato cans and defending his world title.

I think Froch's biggest weakness is his seemingly total lack of defensive skills.

Spot on. There's five pretty good fighters in a row, and so far, despite LOOKING easy to beat, no one has managed it against Froch.

Sure Froch has several flaws, but apart from the Mayweather's of this world so do virtually all fighters. The FACT of the matter is that carl Froch is one hell of a tough fighter to beat

Dirrell is going to beat Abraham imo and shut up a few people around here.

I thought and still think that abraham is there for the taking.

I like Froch for his great attitude, but im not sure he can or will change his style of fighting. Against Dirrell Froch didnt cut the ring off just followed Dirrell round in circles. If Froch could cut off the ring, work on the inside, and throw combinations he would be a much harder fighter to beat, but in truth he must be doing something right, in that, in his last 4 fights hes beaten 3 undefeated fighters, admittedly one of them wasnt well known but in his last 3 fights hes beaten undefeated now WBC LHW champ Pascal, defended away to Taylor who at SMW had only lost once on points to Pavlik (KOd by Pavlik at MW), and defeated undefeated mandatory Dirrell, and is defending away again next time out to Kessler.
Boxing News and The Ring magazine both had Froch a close winner against Dirrell, which was a close fight which could have gone either way.
For people who say Dirrell wasnt experienced in world class, in truth alot of fighters arent when they 1st contest a title and raise their game, some successfully and some not.
Wheather you like Froch or not its good form.

do you honestly think this is worth a thread (yes there are other **** threads). kessler and dirrell are completely different fighters with completely different attitudes and attributes. if you honestly think kessler will fight in the same way as dirrell (and i use the term fight loosely) then you are sadly mistaken. kessler has good fundamentals and has decent power, however he is nowhere near as quick as dirrell or as elusive. he is more then willing to go toe to toe, and whilst i think he will certainly avoid this tactic for a while, froch (who isn't as slow as some here may believe will catch up to him and draw him into a punch up). make no bones about it, this will be a war.
here's hoping for a froch win.
