Froch v Kessler PPV or Normal Sky Sports?

Don't mind it being PPV tbh would rather it happen being PPV than not happen.

 

I would happily pay £!5 to watch this if theres a decent undercard which almost all matchroom cards have.

 

Exactly. Too many instances in the past where they hype the bollocks off a fight and its a bit of a let down and the first one was so good that its going to be hard to measure up too. Having it on Sky- Frampton v teak tough ghanaian with inflated rating in IBF eliminator. Having it on PPV -Frampton-Quigg. Just an example but more money to play around with. I don't want to see PPV return for good but singular instances where the main event is a great match up and there are potentially great and more importantly hard to call competitive undercard fights...No problem paying for that.

 

£15 is a bit strong for me as you could probably buy a cheap ticket to the fight for about 45/50 I think a tenner is a bit more bearable. No one wants PPV as it's shelling out more money but if it makes the fights happen then it's worth it just about. It's not like everyone pays anyway, some choose not to watch it, some pay for it, and others may use certain internet sites that allegedly stream these events from time to time someone tells me.

What we don't want is ridiculous out of hand one off charges like in the states where it can be over $80 for a single event. No wonder boxing is struggling, it's traditionally popular with the working man to some extent and that is almost a days wages, you'd have to have 10 mates round and get them to chip in.

 

This is not a ppv fight and Froch is not a ppv fighter.

Exactly, what's will all the this "deserves" to be on PPV. All the threads about if Sky will bring back PPV why not just enjoy this non-PPV era we have at the moment.

If Matchroom could make Froch/Bute without PPV then why can't they do it with this fight? Boxing fans have been brainwashed into thinking any quality fight is worth an extra £15. The promoters/tv execs must love it.

 

What about they put the main event only on regular Sky Sports after the Champions League, but you could pay a fiver for the undercard on PPV? Too complicated?!

 

Fair point, but the same people who say it could be done on sky sports are the same people who will ***** and moan if frampton or barker are up against bums on the undercard when the money isn't there.

 

If Kessler is on £2m Froch wont be too far off that plus the undercard fighters so lets say £3 -3.5m on the main fight alone plus maybe £500k to pay for the undercard. Thats a lot of money

It will have to be PPV but it will tank imo as dft tayor is only half right in my opinion, this is a ppv quality fight but froch is not a ppv fighter

As for this fight... It's not justified. If it goes PPV il just watch it some by some other means. I'm not supporting PPV.

It's not about warranting PPV. It's why should we even mention it if we can get it on regular Sky?

Like ish said, people are brainwashed into thinking that a good fight is worth paying the extra pound for. We shouldn't have to at all, and the **** about people mentioning it is what their teams look for in response to what the general public think about it. It's what can change their opinions.

I'm opposed to it. Great fight, sure, but **** PPV. I don't care if it's the FOTC made here, it doesn't mean we should bring it up and support it. At the end of the day, PPV is taking money out of OUR pockets.
