Very exciting fight, was also surprised of how respectful Froch was, Kessler is a good champion and should be respected. Now Mikkel is probably going to the semi's good for the tournament IMO

This fight I think turned out good for the tourney because everyone still has a good chance at winning.

But I also think this fight was good for the sport as well. To world class boxers giving their all, showing that their "will outweighs the skill", and both being old school gentlemen (for the most part, Froch) during interviews afterwords.

btw I finally was able to score it, I had 116-112 kess.

Although I wont argue if it was closer, because some rounds were damn close.

it was 113-115 or 112-116 for Kessler, no more no less. Kessler deserved the win, a draw would have been wrong IMO.

I think the guys have shown that rd 2 is much better than 1, like they've shaken off their nerves, both Dirrell vs AA and Froch vs MK was much better than you would expect after seing the first round of the tournament

Completely agree. I mean when it came to Kess vs Froch, I knew it was gonna be a good fight, but ****, I didn't expect that. And Dirrell proved that he wasn't too green by picking apart AA in a pretty entertaining bout.

I cant wait for the semi's.

Yeah aside from the DQ I think Dirrell AA was the second or third best fight depending on how you like to see Ward's dominant but a little dirty win over Kessler in Oakland. Taylor was just not good enough

Great fight, I thought Froch missed out on opportunities to stop kessler he had him in trouble a couple of times, overall kessler deserved the nod... I thought 115-113 was a fair reflection of the fight.

To me it was apparent that Froch had the heavier hands, but I wasn't really concerned until that last round battle, when in the last 30 seconds Kessler looked the more spent of the two and Froch was still trying to land his bombs. But either way Kessler refused to go down when hit hard, and tied up at the right times.

This was a really weird experience for me as I scored the fight round by round and had Froch winning(trying my very best not to be biased) However, once the fight had ended I was pretty confident that Kessler had done enough to nick a close decision:huh Therefore I'm not really sure which way to vote in the poll!!

Carl's biggest negative has never been poor defence, or 'slowness' as posters with poor boxing knowledge so often cite(mainly because they have read it elsewhere rather than have any opinions of their own:hey). No, Froch's biggest weakness has ALWAYS been a low workrate, and it was this and this alone which cost him the fight against Kessler. Kessler was simply more 'busy'.

All credit to both fighters for a fantastic fight. Kessler deserves all the plaudits for coming back from a defeat and beating the main man at 168.

Note to Andre Dirrell and his supporters. THAT'S the way you take the title from a proud warrior like Carl Froch. Not by bitching, falling down, complaining, and running away all night

Very entertaining fight but i have to disagree. Kessler looked really sloppy.
    And Froch..well...we already knew.

Montoya stopped that. But Kessler lifted weights when he was his old and faster self. I know because I frequented the same fitness center as him.

Well I mean, Froch makes people look bad. Think how Dirrell looked against Froch.

Caught it last night. Scored it 15-13 for Kessler.

I don't think Kessler is back to his pre-Calzaghe level, and it's not just that his opposition has improved - he looks slightly sluggish compared to his old self in my opinion, and his jab isn't as good as it used to be. He looked sloppy and not just because Froch is awkward.

I was surprised at how much bigger Froch looked. He has a much larger frame, and he also seemed a lot stronger than Kessler. Honestly, I thought he made him look like a little boy in comparison, able to manhandle him and knock him off balance even with blocked punches, it reminded me of sparring guys 10kg heavier than myself.

While it was an entertaining and enjoyable fight, my estimation of either of their chances of winning the super 6 has not improved. Kessler didn't show anything significantly new in my opinion, and worse, he didnt return to his old form - he's still a one trick pony, but it used to be a great trick, now it's just an ok trick. If you're going to be one dimensional, make it an awesome dimension, or get more dimensions. And Froch didn't manage to beat even this version of Kessler.
