Froch v Taylor

Taylor by simple UD. Froch is too easy to hit and Taylor will not allow himself to get into close combat with him. Froch has a chance but only by asserting his power early and causing Taylor a Pavlik-like lack of confidence

 

Taylor takes it on points by at least 8 rounds to 4 as long as he keeps it smart like he did against Lacy.

But I agree that if he doesn't take the Froch fight, for whatever reason, he will continue to be called a ducker by the Froch fans.

 

Earn the right to face Taylor?

By that logic does nobody deserve to face Taylor at this stage?

I lean more towards Taylor, barely. That chin is definitely crackable though.

 

When that's a fighter's only hope going into a fight, as it seems to be with Froch against Taylor, he's clearly overmatched.

 

That might be the case if you are talking about a defensive master, but we aren't. The guy is hittable and tires, making him even more hittable.

Taylor was hit a lot by Pavlik, who is very slow himself.

Froch and his fans would have reason to be optimistic.

 

taylor hasn't done anything at smw, froch has the wbc belt and taylor is his madatory. frochs earnt his right if taylor wants a belt. if pavlik can ko him so can froch.

 

Not necessarily. I think Taylor had the skills to be able to UD Pavlik, but he couldn't because he was uncomfortable with Pavlik's power and determination........two things Froch also has. I think it's still hard to tell exactly what Froch brings though, before Pascal he hadn't really been tested and just how good is Pascal? That's hard to tell also.

 

Taylor should win by decision, but as said above, Taylor tires and his defense is pretty sub-par. Froch's a B-level fighter, but all it takes is one big shot late in the fight. Still, Tayor by very solid UD.

 

look who pavlik and taylor have fought to make their name internationally and then line up who froch has fought and compare that.

belts and a fighters record are smokescreens in a lot of cases. but promoters chase them incessently so they can have the effect you've just displayed.

i agree with you in that.

froch is still a pandora's box becuase he's never faced opposition as good as taylor.

and despite losing twice to pavlik, taylor is a world class fighter.

if froch does beat him it's his ticket to the big time.

take your allegiances away and take a long, good look at who the guys have fought before bigging up your homeboy.

if you aren't big enough to do that - you'll never be able to be taken seriously.

pavlik hasn't got a great resume, miranda, taylor and destroyed by hopkins. taylor is coming off two losses to pavlik. to say fighting froch the wbc champion is beneath them is crazy.

I think Kessler/Taylor is the next super fight at 168, but I would like to see JT fight one more time before taking on Kessler, who is arguably the divisions best.
