Who wins and why? Personally I lean to Ward. I like Froch, he shows great determination, punches in good combinations, put feel he'll run out of answers against Ward's superior boxing skills. Your thoughts?

dropped a crapload of replies on other related topics, so this is a copy&paste job...

Looks like Froch is going to maintain his new boxing style, and it may work to a good degree. Unfortunately, in the range game, speed and timing reigns, and Ward has a good edge on that. The reason why Froch wants to stay on the outside, cuz he dont wanna get mauled the hell up inside, ala Green/Kessler. Froch dont have a phonebooth game at all.

I think Froch's defensive stance is gonna match up bad against Ward. Ward really likes to do a jump in left hook (ala Tyson), though he is somewhat predictable and overshoots it. But he does use it to close in the distance so he can get his inside game on. Froch needs to train to have his righthand guarding his head, or Ward will unnecessarily land this punch (which he doesnt do proficiently yet) on Froch, score points, and open him up. Needs to block and counter that.

As with his new fangled footwork, Froch is gonna depend on it to maintain a distance to keep Ward in No Man's Land, trying to come in, as he predictably did to Glen Johnson. He will intercept and attempt to land combos, disengage and reset the distance.

Unfortunately, he's going against the most versatiled boxer in the fighting business. Expect Ward to establish a jab, and remarkedbly the body jab, and body hooks when he closes the distance. Froch depends on his reflex for his defense, but Ward has good timing and anticipation with his punches, and i dont think its gonna look pretty for Froch.

I dont anticipate Froch to get KO'd, though there's a possibility that Ward may get to him by wearing him down with body punches, and mentally by using bully tactics. In the end, i think they wont work cuz Froch has proven to be the toughest physically & mentally, but who knows.

Nevertheless, i expect Ward to win by a UD. It may be close because Froch isnt afraid to get punched in order to get his offense on. Or, if he gets mentally beaten by speed, timing, and tactics, this may turn out to be YET ANOTHER SHUTOUT for Ward....

Ward takes this one!! I predicted Froch would win against Johnson but I thought he would be impressive in doing so..I was wrong. I hope Ward boxes from long to middle range against Froch. I believe he is more effective from middle range vs inside. But Ward inside game and toughness make his opponents quickly discouraged. Anyway Ward is better than Froch in everything (except chin I guess). Ward is also very strong so I can see a very dominant performance from him.

Ward by close UD. Froch offers the most difficult task of Ward's career but SOG's skills and strategy will see him score a close but clear victory.

    - Ward will win - too much skill.

    - Froch obviously has skill, but Ward is just too good in my eyes.

Hope Froch, but think Ward (son of Zinedine Zidane) will win...

All that damn switching that Ward does, he fight southpaw then goes conventinal, fights insides, uses tricks like hitting on the break, is elusive and hard to find with combination punching, counters well, and is very game defensivly.. did i miss anything>??? Froch is going to have his hands full making adjustments while trying not to get fustrated like he did in the Dirrell fight.. and this is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to all the Havoc that Ward will cause Froch..

Stay Tuned Wards best performance is comming in the Froch Fight..

Ward will hit and grab. Froch will not be able to work.

It would be funny as **** if Froch KO's Ward (preferably with a well timed uppercut just as ward jumps in with his head).

But all the signs point to Ward by a fairly wide descision.

I see Ward taking this but, Froch will give Ward all he can handle...If I never saw the Dirrell fight, I would have a lot more trouble picking against Froch...But, I did see it, boxing skills and speed give Froch trouble...And I think Froch is an excellent boxer as well as a tough fighter...
