http://www.rds.ca/boxe/chroniques/300273.html Mind you its nothing concrete but according to this, the Mirror reported that Yvon Michel was approached to talk about the possibility of hosting this latest super six fight. Thoughts?
Yeah they need to have it in a big arena where they can make a shitload of money and canada is big on boxing/mma so it makes financial sense.
Canada is not big on boxing at all. Only place that gives it any love is Montreal and that's cause of Bute. Trust me, I've lived here 28 years of my life and have lived in many different Canadian cities....I've ran into only a handful of boxing fans in over 20 years
Montreal is pretty big on boxing even before Bute. Quebec has a long standing history of being a boxing city. I'm born and raised in Montreal and I have alot of friends who are casual boxing fans and 1 or 2 who follow it more than a little.
The country needs more sports writers and journalists that are real fans but most importantly, truly knowledgeable about the sport. It's not enough to only have a handful of guys like Russ Anber...
true that there was the hiltons and such a few years back and grants etc... i guess Montreal is the exception. The rest of the country is definetly lacking
