Froch UD - I see him controling the fight with his jab and hurt AA when he gets frustrated in the late rounds and starts swinging for the fences.
I watched Froch/Kessler and Froch/Pascal back to back the other day, and I've seen 9 or 10 Abraham fights. I think there are 3 or 4 key things you have to do to beat Abraham. One of them is, KEEP YOUR FREAKING HANDS UP! I think Froch's habit of using his left hand to guard his knee cap will get him knocked out.
I'm surprised so many are giving Froch such a big chance! The guy couldn't discipline himself into keeping his hands up after Taylor (who knocked him down in 3 and built a comfortable points lead) Dirrell (who he barely sneaked past) and Kessler (who at the end of the day simply outboxed him) Abraham's arguably the hardest hitting super middleweight in the world and Froch thinks he can get away with doing an imitation of Tony Meléndez against him? atsch
But he has a glass knee so it's understandable. But yeah, Froch has a great chin but you don't have to be chinny to be knocked out by AA. Froch will work his rangey jab, he can steal rounds using that but AA will eventually walk him down and Froch isn't one to shy away from trading blows, at which point it will be lights out for Froch. Should be an entertaining enough brawl though. I'm looking forward to it a lot.
I agree. Froch will start off slick and work his jab nicely, but he won't keep this up the whole fight. He will get cocky, try to throw bombs and get KO'd. If there is one thing we know about Abraham it's this...He can be outboxed, he cannot be outpunched.
Abraham just has to let his ****ing hands go more consistantly for a change and he should win no problem.
The funny thing is that keeping a good stiff jab right in AA's face is one of the keys to beating him. He simply has no meaningful answer to a good jab. However, even though Froch's jab is nice and stiff, he telegraphs it really bad, and simply refuses to guard his chin. I may be wrong, but I think that at some point he'll telegraph the jab, AA will step in, hit him with that nice compact straight right, hurt Froch, and then close the show.
Who knows Boo. Up until his loss to Kessler, Froch was unbeaten and probably felt his style was enough for him to succeed. Maybe now he will realise he needs to change his style somewhat and may adopt a more methodical approach. It's highly unlikely but not impossible. He may try go for a UD and keep AA at bay, although I do think it will end the way you have described.
No possible outcome to this fight than a AA KO, except if froch does some serious running, which might even be sweeter.
Toss-up in my opinion. I say Froch jabs a lot and moves around and wins a decision. However, I can see Abraham landing a hook that Froch doesn't see and its nap time.
Whoever can imitate the Direll that fought Arthur, almost flawless strategy(even though it would have been an interesting ending had the disqualification not happened). Froch does not have the speed Direll has. Froch does not have the defense Direll has. Froch does not go to the body as much as Direll did. Froch does not have the lateral movement Direll has. Froch does not have the footwork Direll has. Froch does not have the reflexes Direll has. The only advantage Froch has over Direll is his power, which in my opinion is slightly overrated. AA is too patient, too accurate(against slower fighters) and too powerful with good defense. AA KO Froch Round 10 or 11.
i agree. froch does telegraph his jab badly. another thing he gets into a habit of doing is throwing a jab from his knee cap which is a terrible thing to do against a guy who can bang like arthur. arthur may spend the first half of the fight timing it but when he decides he's got it locked in and unloads...it could very well get ugly. on the other hand, if carl can stay on his backfoot and keep his distance he has a real shot here. he will have a big height advantage and arthur is going to have to lunge in and hit up to get to carl IF carl can stay on that back foot. if this happens he will have big openings to counter like he did against kessler. by froch's own admission he didnt press the attack against kessler after he countered kesslers looping shots. i don't think carl will make the same mistake twice in a row. i just don't think carl be that disciplined for 12 rounds. he likes to mix it up and scrap and i think that will get him sparked out in this fight. i see a late round stoppage in a similar fashion to the way you predicted. big timed right hand and then close the show.
Like people said before the Dirrel fight. Abraham is fast and can box. In the Dirrel fight he fought someone who could run where as Froch cant even if he wants to. AA by KO.
