Froch vs Bute at the 02 or Hopkins in Vegas!!

Good news! i hope he gets the Bute fight. Partly for the selfish reason that it will be in Britain so i can go and also because i don't think Hopkins will fight him at 168 which may mean Carl vacating and I'm not sure how he will carry the extra weight. He seems very comfortable at 168.

froch has a solid british contingent. not as big as other brit champs domestically or world scene. but his fight with pascal was a big placement for him. he has the fans. it will sell wel..

 

My point was, that Froch fighting an established American star in Las Vegas would probablly be more profitable & appealing to showtime/hbo/whoever than Froch fighting Bute in London. Not that either scenario is unappealing.

 

Probablly. Depends how much impact Froch's time on ITV has had. Better of in Notingham (do they have a decent venue there :huh)

 

If it does happen at the O2, think of the possible fights Hennessy would have to make to sell it...

Witter v ???-Easy voluntary after Alexander win
Thaxton v Murray-British title
Macklin v Barker-British and Commonwealth titles
Tyson Fury-English title or something

OK, maybe I'm living in a dream world, but if the fight did take place at the O2, and Hennessy put all his eggs in one basket and could make all of these fighrs come off, what a card it could be.

 

They could always have it at Sheffield Arena?

 

To be fair, throwing Las Vegas in as a possible location for a Hopkins fight doesn't mean much. Where else is it likey to be?

 

Hopkins' Tarver and Pavlik fights were in Atlantic City, this would maybe be an option for any potential Froch fight.

 

Either way, if you look at the acual content, (basically its just Froch saying he'd like to fight Hopkins, nothing from Hopkins people, TV or promotors) the Hopkins part of that interview is so vague as to be meaningless and certainly way to early to be seriously talking about locations and catchweights.

Hopkins has said he would be interested in that fight, though. Certainly sounds more interested than the potential fight Adamek, or LHW kingpin Dawson...smart man Bhop.
