I agree with this,Froch was great to watch, he always sought the bets guys to fight and I much preferred him.

However I do think Joe was better than him

froch acheived more, making defences of major crowns and united crowns, challenged for and won a major crown younger.

    calzaghe had better longevity perhaps.

prime calzaghe outpoints young froch, but post prime calzaghe gets koed by froch.

I was not a huge fan of Calzaghe. But, I have him ahead of Froch in both Greatness and head to head. Joe was simply a better fighter than Froch. Froch was extremely lucky to survive Jermain Taylor. Calzaghe would have probably pitched a shut out against the not so smart Taylor.

Doubtful. Taylor beat a younger fresher Hopkins 3 years before Calzaghe and didn't avoid a rematch like Calzaghe did.
He beat Lacy just as lopsided as Calzaghe did. His pops - Kelly Pavlik was ducked by Calzaghe.

Jermain Taylor would have been the best SMW on Calzaghe's resume and would have gave him a much harder fight than euro level Kessler.

yeh i tihnk taylor would have taken joe on points, but it would have been a tight fight, just like oldhopkins vs calzaghe

taylor was probably as good as kessler - but injured, one armed kessler wasnt 100% the same level.

Ah okay. Because I would probably place Ward a hundred places lower. Maybe 130. Each to his own.

Taylor gave everyone a hard fight so I've no doubt he'd give Joe fits. But I do think Joe beats him.

As for him being the best guy Joe would have faced, quite possibly.

I rank mainly on h2h and winnability.

Done a slight retinkering as I was uncomfortable with some ommissions from my list.

Ward is 32, Calzaghe is 86. Froch still doesn't make it.

Calzaghe was number 3 p4p in the world when he retired. Behind Mayweather and Pacquiao and one ahead of Juan Manuel Marquez if memory serves correct

Who on Calzaghe resume leads you to believe he has more winnablity than Froch?

Care to quote my prior post and elaborate on where Froch's wins greatly outshine Calzaghe's in quantity and quality of opponent?
