atsch So you couldnt answer my questions and didnt even have the confidence to highlight my post, instead trying to indirectly answer
Am I stupid? You are the one who said it wasnt a good win because someone retired after a loss, but while we are on the subject. What belt do you think Spinks was defending?
Taylor would beat Richie Woodhall at 160, because on boxrec he has a better MW resume than Woodhall. But at 168, Richie Woodhall would beat Jermain Taylor because on boxrec he has a better SMW resume than Taylor. But at 200+ it would be a 50/50 fight because on boxrec neither have fought that high up in weight.
Calzaghe was still THE super middelweight champion. Froch needs to bear Andre Ward to get a better resume than Calzaghe.
Pascal has a better record than anybody Joe beat at SMW. A multidivisional champ who achieved more at LH than Joe did and is still active...Froch isn't done either and is beating Joe. Another few wins and he will of surpassed Calzaghe by a lond shot.
Jermain Taylor beat Hopkins more convincingly than Calzaghe did. That must mean he has a better resume than Joe....Johnson beat Roy 4 years earlier than Joe and gets no credit. The Jones win means zero.
Rudy Markussen is a joke, and i'm from Denmark. Don't take this seriously. I think if Froch beats Kessler, then he is above Calzaghe resumewise. I'm a diehard Cobra fan, but i still fancy Joe to do Froch on points. But it is closer than what must people think, the SMW didn't get so much attention when Calzaghe was the ruler of the division. :bbb
Froch definitely has a better resume. I'm not even a fan of either guy, but speaking objectively the opponents Froch has faced the last 3+ years has catapulted him over Calzaghe as far as taking on better fighters, fighting some of them outside of England, and most importantly taking on a lot of highly ranked fighters during their prime. I always thought Froch was a glorified club fighter, but after his display in the super 6, he deserves the accolades he receives.
This content is protected Can someone explain how Pascal, Dirrell, Taylor, Johnson, Mack are good SMW wins? They havent done anything at the weight. Nothing. Abraham isnt a top SMW either. I thought he lost the first fight to Steiglitz and then did lose the return and how many posts were on ESB saying Steiglitz was the worst champ etc. Many on here even said Bute was a fighter that never did anything and never stepped up and not a top champ. I actually think Frochs win over Bute was excellent, but just look at how people have changed their posting to suit. As said Bute was a top win and the first SMW champ that Froch beat, before that it was vacant titles. Now tell me how Pascal, Dirrell, Taylor, Johnson, Abraham, Mack are good SMW wins? Except for Abraham having a disputed and hard fought win over a fighter that many called the worst champ, The others havent done anything at the weight. Nothing. Remember how Sheika beat prime SMW Johnson to get a shot at the champ Calzaghe, which shows how the division has got weaker when in order for Froch to get a shot at champ Ward, he had to fight old, boiled down, past best Johnson that Sheika beat when prime. Thats should say everything Someone explain how the fighters listed Pascal, Dirrell, Taylor, Johnson, are a better win than Reid, Woodhall, Veit 2, Lacy, Kessler, Eubank, Mitchell
Maybe I'm biased, but I've favored froch over Calzaghe for a long time now because of Carl's willingness to take risks.
