Are you Mrs. Froch, Carl's mum? Hmmm... As for Froch going to the States, I think a lot of people like yourself mistakenly consider it as some sort of amazing bold move, when the simple truth is that it was nothing of the sort, and most likely a financial one. Nothing more, nothing less. Who the fark is Froch? No channel even wanted to screen it live in the UK, for ****'s sakes. Remember? Damn n00b.
Focus on the question and answer it objectively. What is more impressive? Calzaghes first 20 defences against the opponents mentioned? Or Frochs 1st defence on foreign soil against Jermaine Taylor? If you dont have the capacity to do so and are too emotionally insecure about this whole topic then the best thing to do is to just leave it, insults and witchhunts will bring you down rather than me.
Don`t know what irish 84 is on about but if you compare their first 15 pro bouts Froch was up against better opposition but that never means he is the better fighter.Calzaghe would box his head off.
OP is totally right. Despite the fact that even now Calzaghe would be the favourite (probably with a margin of 50+%) to come in and win the Super 6 tournament (that Froch, Taylor are taking part in). The only main people arguing this point in favour of Froch are relative unknowns (hence troll), and a known jackass who gives himself an erection when he comes up with an impressive (in his own mind) one liner about Calzaghe. (Yes I am talking about the prat maybe somewhat better known as mike464). Seriously, Taylor was less than convincing during his reign as champion. I believe the name "fraud" was attributed to him between Hopkins and Pavlik. Pavlik has been proven to be one dimensional (I stopped short of useless), and his only REAL decent win appears to be Hopkins. Oh, and Lacy (the one who Calzaghe gets slated for calling a big win. Note this is a Lacy who is shot, devoid of confidence, and post rotator cuff injury. Calzaghe fought the prime, best version of Lacy - and made him a ***** that even Alan Carr would be proud of). Yes, one defence, a last 10 second KO on a fight which he was comfortably behind on the cards, in a country that struggles to bring out huge crowds for fights often times, is far better than the first 20 consecutive defences of a fighter. I think it's time to make a petition to Ross that a simple IQ test should be made on registration.
Umm Jeff Lacy didnt drop Jermain...U can see clearly see thaT punch Lacy threw didnt connect at all,JT just lost his balance ducking the punch and U mean Robin reid? The one that Joe barely beat? he won a CONTROVERSAIL split decision over Reid? That Robin Reid???
Your trying to make yourself feel comfortable by dismissing me as a troll. You seem to understand that if you are new to ESB forums then you are a troll and lacking in boxing knowledge. You are talking about a hypothetical scenario about Calzaghe returning to the super 6 which has nothing to do with the question asked. You have thrown insults at people who differ with your opinion. You have presented Taylor as a sub world class fighter and in the same line presented the Jeff Lacy that Calzaghe fought as some sort of threat on the world stage, as if he was any threat to Calzaghe in the first place. The fact that you needed to state that Froch has had one defence compared to Calzaghes 20 shows you didnt grasp or are choosing to ignore (more likely) the nature of the question.
