Its obviously true what they say about Lancs...the place is such a shithole that they lose all perspective, and sense of humour....the :hey indicates at least a modicum of irony
I think Froch was hurt most in one of the later rounds, he bossed the whole round and then did some ridiculous showboating and paid the price.
I think Lacy's pride and his confidence were hurt the most, RJJ was past it. You're right maybe he could cut him, but I'm sure he wouldn't KO him.
He is human, but he is also a professional. He shouldn't get dragged into such low level insulting back and forth. He should just compliment him and let it go, that way everyone would see how humble he is. The more Calzaghe reacts the more it makes him look like he cares about Froch and what he says, thus making Calzaghe look worse.
Nah. It's made even worse by the fact that Calzaghe was "calling out" Jones and Hopkins circa 2000/01 whilst taking on cushy home title "defenses" against the likes of Tocker Pudwill and Mger Mkrtchyan. He was even fighting (and getting dropped and hurt by) the likes of Kabery Salem as recently as 2004. Who can forget Evans Ashira? He gained my respect as a boxer, but don't anyone dare try to deny Calzaghe's career-spanning status as world champion bull**** merchant.
That's true. http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/general/others/frank-warren-calzaghe-was-the-biggest-disappointment-total-disloyalty-1608091.html
Hmmm......so Cal only fights people who are "in his league"? So I guess Peter Manfredo is a lot better than we thought. Goldn
Regardless of records, Calzaghe could currently beat any boxer mixing it between 155-180lbs. Froch couldnt, and extremely struggled with the power, speed and strength of a much smaller man.
The best part is Joe wondering how a seasoned pro like Froch doesn't realize that holding your hands up is an integral part of boxing and self-defense. Froch would be so badly outclassed by Joe but Carl did manage to defeat Jermaine. So, he gets credit for that great, unexpected win. He has the heart of a lion as Taylor was clearly the superior athlete. But the heart and grit of Carl Froch is no match for the awesome talent of a Joe Calzaghe.
"For the first eight rounds he was like a goalkeeper with no defence, he was being outclassed and outfought by a middleweight who has seen better days" What a ****ing hypocrite Slappy is, seriously. So Jones and Hopkins hadn't seen bigger days when you finally grew a pair and fought them eh Joe? Both of them also dropped Slappy too I'm tired of Frochs obsession with Slappy as much as anyone else is, but if he's going to start slinging insults he should be more careful than this.
