Froch vs Canelo

Yeah sure Smith go's 12 rounds but Froch gets stopped, good one m8.

 

Does Canelo punch much harder and more spiteful than groves???

 

Not sure if he punches as hard but he definitely disguises and varies his work more effectively. He definitely makes them work a lot harder, too. It’s not necessarily the power on the shots that bingo’s them but rather the fact they didn’t see it coming. For example, Whyte has been hit harder and cleaner in his career than that Povetkin shot but he had no idea at all it was coming.

Groves was stopped both times vs Froch.

 

Canelo fairly comfortable UD but Froch to have some joy and put up a lot better showing than Smith..

 

Canelo was already a 2 weight world champ when he fought Floyd, that's hardly green is it ?? No Canelo wasn't in his prime but neither was the 36 year old Mayweather who was also naturally the smaller man so that evens things out. A great win for Floyd that as you say has only gotten better with time despite the best efforts of the haters.
And as for Froch-Canelo - If Carl comes back now of course he loses, he's 43 and has been out of the ring for 6 years. Prime for prime I'll go with Froch although it would be a close one, don't think it's unreasonable to give him a good chance against a guy that got schooled by Floyd and got controversial decisions against Lara and GGG.

 

If they fought today Froch gets annihilated.

Froch at his absolute best then we have a tasty fight in our hands.

Obviously Canelo is roided now, no debate. However what he has proven over the last couple years makes me swing towards him in this mouthwatering contest.

I could well be wrong though and would happily be wrong.

 

What difference does that make, that wasn't the question!!! I was stating that if groves didn't stop froch imo Canelo never would, the beating froch took for 24 minutes was unbelievable and still he didn't get stopped.

Just my opinion but I dont think Canelo could hand out the intense beating on frochthat groves did but due to canelos chin he would cruise to a ud

I can’t see how you can make a valid case for Froch having a good chance of beating Canelo, on the back of the Mayweather and Golovkin fights. Froch is not on the same level as Golovkin or Mayweather. The only fighter Froch fought who you could put near Golovkin or Mayweather is Andre Ward, and look what happened there. I cannot comment on Lara as I did not see the fight.
As said previously, there are levels, and although Froch was a cracking fighter, I believe he wouldn’t have the tools to beat Alvarez, or come close.

Mayweather was a 36 year old Super Featherweight and Golovkin has never beaten of note unless you count a SD over Daniel Jacobs, Lara is a talented but light punching LMW who arguably beat Canelo. Are any of those guys better than the natural 168'er Froch ?? Not for me.
Listen, I'm not saying Froch beats Canelo but the idea that he has almost no chance is IMO ludicrous.

 

I see it like both Groves fights but Canelo holding on to win on points

He wasn't a 2 weight world champion, he was still a light middle at the time and had just unified against Austin Trout who was the only top tier win against a fighter in his pomp on his record at the time.

I hear what you are saying but for me.... the Canelo we saw against Floyd over 7 years ago and was "a green fighter" in the sense of look at the elite level fighter he is now he's reached his prime. The difference is huge and Floyd got him at the right time in a fight that I think is one of Floyd's best performances.
