He would definitely outweigh Froch. Just got me thinking though, if it was for the IBF title, I think they have a second 10lb limit weigh-in on the day of the fight. I'd be interested to see how much weight Froch puts on overnight, never looks like much.
Froch gets stopped. He isn't stopping Chavez (who would probably be a Cruiser on the night). Carl's power is a bit overrated, I find. Chavez in the 10th.
If his name was Julio Cesar Smith then people would support him rather than compare him all the time to his dad. His record isn't that bad for a guy with no amateur background and he does have some good skills and is still really young. He has a few solid wins under his belt already, sure he uses his size and weight advantage more than other fighters but why does he get crucified for it. Every fighter cuts weight prior to a fight and there are plenty of active boys that rehydrate to the extremes that he does. Chavez Jnr does need to move up to prove himself, but he was a way to go before facing Froch.
He couldnt stop Martinez so what makes you think he can Froch?? I like JCC Jnr a lot & think this would be an absolute classic. Id love to see it.
Whilst I don't think Chavez Jr is one of the best. people underestimate the mans heart, he is Mexican through and through. It would be a very tough fight for Carl because he would be fighting a tough **** who doesnt like to admit defeat. Neither does Carl. Which could make for a good fight. What I will say is this, while I admire Carl's grit, desire, heart and punch resistance, I've maintained all along that he isn't the most skillfull boxer, he can box, he wouldnt be where he is now if he couldn't, but his skills aren't ELITE level, the size of his **** has got him this far. Whilst I don't think Chavez is ELITE level skilled either, I believe he has more skills than Carl Froch, and when predicting a fight, I always look at it down the middle and who is the most skillful boxer, I then look at other things like will to win, grit, chins etc etc I would say Chavez, but because he is a Roach fighter, he will do the one thing Carl loves for a fighter to get involved in, a scrap, a war. That is where Carl thrives, at a 100mph and his opponent getting reckless and careless. He likes dragging skillfull fighters into his territory, Carl knows he cant compete with some, his hope is to drag them into a Carl Froch scrap (TM) Trouble is with Carl, he looks bloody useless when he fights someone who doesnt want to drop down to that mentality level. If Chavez can be wise enough to box and not get into a scrap. I'd say Chavez wins the fight, but I don't believe he can, a war and a scrap is engrained into Chavez's way of living and he doesn't have the correct trainer to change that to make him a better fighter. Roach is a careless and reckless trainer, his fighters are involved in great fights, but as we have seen a lot of recent, they also lose a lot of fights, some of the best he has, in devastating fashion. Carl Froch TKO mid-to-late rounds. In a great looking fight for however long it lasts. Chavez might even put Carl down aswell.
Is it that funny? Martinez is a 'sharper' puncher than Froch and he couldnt make Jr relent. Ward put manners on Froch on the inside and showed that Froch is nearly incapable of working in there - he needs to be close, but not too close. They will come and meet in the centre and from there its a shoot out. I personally think Froch would win on points because hes got the better jab. I would be surprised, but not shocked if Jr, given Froch' age and previous heroics, would stop him on his feet.
A toss up! **** off Lazarus. Froch would jab his head for 12 rounds, it would be Froch Abraham on repeat. Chavez gives up too many intangibles without his size, in Carl Froch he would be fighting a better all round boxer puncher who is seasoned at the weight and would not take a backwards step. Easy UD for Froch, Chavez Jr is target practice at 168 for the top guys :deal
Martinez didnt move anywhere! he stood in the middle of the ring and placed Chavez Jr's head on the end of his fists.
So by this I'm assuming you think Chavez is a better boxer than Froch, not just a better inside fighter or puncher?
