Lol chavez would get mullered by froch, like someone stated before he is only good because he puts on a shitload of weight come fight night, thus giving him the strength advantage and durability.

I would see it going similar to the Abraham fight, Froch UD but would have to be careful not to get caught with something big.

    Well said

He's not the pushover that people seem to think on this thread,he's got a head like a rock and can bang a bit too.Froch won't be able to go charging in like he did against Bute because he could get caught with something big.Id say it would be a great fight and a close one too but I'd have Froch winning by decision just based on experience and know how.

Clearly you dont know this forum :yep

No ones crucifying the kid for it, people are just stating its his one main dimension / weapon, fighters like Froch have various weapons based on schooling and experience.

Overall yes. I don't actually think Froch is that good. He is just one ****ing hard nut and a very awkward fighter.

    As for the jab.

    Have you seen Carl's "effort"?

Andre Ward took that and used the lazy jab to get of 4-5 punches inside. Carl was still in the process of putting his arm out there when he was getting hit.

Carl's jab is ordinary, its what he puts behind it when he gets going that has meaning.

The money and recognition is there to be made at SMW so one would assume that Chavez Jr would be fighting there already if he thought he had a serious chance of beating any of the top guys. I think even he knows he'd get ruined by a fair few fighters at SMW without the ridiculous weight advantage he enjoys at MW.

Froch beats him, it could play out in different ways but any road the fight takes I think Froch has too much for him overall.

Chavez doesn't have the speed to trouble Froch, the only time you see Froch struggling really is when he's punching thin air and JCC doesn't have the footwork or skills to do that.

It would end up in a war after a few rounds and I think Froch is just tougher than JCC and would see him off.

Would be an awesome fight. Froch would wear him down and stop him around round 9 or 10.

If it took place in Mexico, then I think it'd be interesting.

Froch batters him silly. Chavez Jr relies on size and that won't work on Froch who's a naturally big and muscular guy himself. Froch to KO him inside 8, Julio doesn't have the power to stop Carl or wobble him thanks to Cobra's iron chin. Can't outbox him like Ward did either.

Chavez Jr was exposed pretty much in my opinion in the Andy Lee and Sergio Martinez fights. Anyone with slick boxing ability can out-box him providing they can keep the distance so Ward would embarrass as well if they ever fought.

Also, nobody can stand toe to toe with Froch and win except Kessler (maybe, we'll find out on May 25th). Carl really would beat him so bad they'd need a DNA test to identify him afterwards, especially if Chavez Jr barely trained like Roach says he does.

If Chavez can drag Froch into a tear up he could win, I'm convinced of that.

Froch is shite on the inside and usually comes second in a tear up against good opponents.... if he keeps it long and uses his thudding shots with both hands he could quite conceivably win a very wide decision, similar to the Abraham fight.

Froch for me has better stamina than Martinez and is clearly more durable to boot.

I can't be bothered to elaborate to any extent, so I'll just come out with it.

    Chavez wins.

    Sorry mate,

Disagree two fold; firstly, Chavez is limited, he's not a boxer he's strictly a pressure fighter / puncher, if we are talking about the ability to box at length Chavez doesn't have it. Also he comes in straight lines, no head movement, literally none! so if he cannot walk through you, he has a problem. He will / would not walk through Carl Froch.

Froch while not strictly a boxer can box when pitted against limited fighters, it looks **** and shabby to an expecting public, but for purists its accepted. Jr is simply to predictable and Froch would jab his head off all night, IMHO it would be an easy nights for Froch.

Jr has little business at 168 against the very top guys.
