Sense and I've been saying the same in this thread. :good

Carl Froch's jab is ordinary. "Box Chavez's head of"

When has Carl ever done that at THIS LEVEL apart from against Abraham? Carl gets into scraps, wars, to avoid that very reason, to avoid that sort of fight. Because when Carl tries to box at this level, you see what happens against Ward.

Carl tried to prove a point in that Ward fight, rather than fight his natural fight.

    Jean Pascal.

'When Carl tries to box at this level'? Andre Ward is above your average world level fighter. He's an elite fighter. He has dominated every opponent he's faced - Froch, Kessler, Dawson, Abraham, Bika ...

Carl has way, way to much for Jr. In every department.

It's my day off. In my current incarnation on this forum i'm averaging little over a post a day. Hardly obsessive.

But yes, you are right - I am wasting valuable time. Thanks for the advice.

For starters Pascal hardly has the jab of a prime Oscar DLH so by out jabbing him hardly makes Froch as skilled as Whitaker. If you go back to my original post i said not to write Chavez off as he is young and he wouldn't be thrown in at the deep end if he did move up by facing Carl. Froch is at his peak and is a pound for pound top 10 fighter, it would be a mismatch.

Of course taking away a fighters strength would make them a lesser fighter that's not the point im making. Froch never works his way inside he is always open to getting hit or countered.

Froch is probably my favorite fighter at the minute, highly entertaining and great to watch.

P.S we all know how Roy Jones got his amazing athleticism but im not going into that as im going to see him at the dinner night next month and once he signs my glove im turning into a fanboy!!

Shocked that people are questioning frochs chin or his ability to take Chavez punches whilst also saying froch can't hurt him !

When has Chavez ever faced someone with frochs power?

Martinez is a lmw and froch hits far harder if you ask me all the question marks are over Chavez and not froch so I can't see how anyone could realistically pick him to beat a proven world level smw.

I think Chavez jr doesn't bring much, apart from size, strength and a good chin. He's a big middleweight, and I reckon he'd still be quite big and strong at 168, but he wouldn't enjoy the same kind of advantage he does at 160. As far as boxing, well he doesn't impress me. Froch may not be a master technician but you don't have to be to beat Chavez jr. The way jr was plodding around the ring against Martinez was pretty awful. I think Froch has enough to comfortably beat him.

Froch may not be aethetically pleasing but he's far better than Chavez jr. Froch is a better boxer than he looks, Chavez Jr isn't!
It would be a cracking fight tho. Chavez is tough and game like Froch.

Froch TKO9 and I'd love it to happen next for big money just to spite Ward.

    :deal

There's a reason he was using diuretics, skipping drug tests and generally killing himself to make weight at 160 when there is a talent stacked division full of potentially big pay days just 8lbs up.

Yeah, Froch boxed very well with his awkward jab in second half of Pascal fight.

Froch would batter Jr who is a big lump but very basic. Froch is better equipped to do the job here, Chavez Jr will lose less and less upside the closer he gets to fighting people his own size.

I think your getting confused, my original point is / was Chavez Jr's inability to do anything other than march in and throw hooks or uppercuts will leave him wanting against Carl Froch, not because Froch is an elite member of boxing, but because he is a well schooled world champion, who is seasoned at the weight and has better experience fighting top level guys.

Chavez plods forward and is there to be hit, Froch would have absolutely no problem at all picking him coming in.

Chavez has shown that 160 is his limit when fighting top guys, size would not be enough against Froch or any of the top ranked SMW's.
