Ward was very good last night , but its clear Dawson isnt a 168 fighter.

If he wants to stay down there the next name would be Froch, however I think Carl hits way harder, although slower than Ward and is more dangerous to Dawson due ti styles.

Carl via brutal stoppage in around 6 - 8 rounds.

    Thoughts?

No need to have anything. Dawson will never fight at 168 again.

Dawson would be stupid to fight at 168 again. Ward won impressively, but Dawson also looked drained.

Dawson couldnt even beat a guy Froch handled at 175, how do you think hes going to react when hes dealing with a more dangerous fighter at 168?

    Another KO for Froch

I have a feeling Froch could beat him at 168 and 175. Dawson isn't stopping Froch, and I'm not convinced he has the heart to beat an aggressive, hard punching Cobra Carl over 12 rounds- if he makes the distance

I'd love to see that fight. If Froch can beat him at 175 he can retire, or fight one last time against Hopkins as a high profile low risk opponent- if Hopkins is still going and doesn't lose between now and then

edit; I feel Froch's loss to Ward looks better after Ward's performance against Dawson

    Quote above says it all.
Froch is getting a bit old, is slow and well past his best, but Dawson had looked troubled by G Johnson at LHW, and being hit by Froch at SMW, would be far too much for him

I agree. Whether or not Froch gets inside his head in the build up, the pressure he brings in the fight is going to be discouraging any way you look at it. Froch is no technician but he brings the fight every time and has heavy enough hands to put Dawson on his ass. It would be like Dawson fighting a better version of Pascal

Let's stop talking about Dawson at 168. It's not fair to him.

I was talking about the Pascal fight as opposed to the Johnson one.

Dawson switched off and was just beating to the punch by Pascal until he decided to wake up and fight back but by then of course it was too late

now imagine a weaker 168 version of Dawson taking punches from a well known puncher in Froch when he cant handle Dawson? a guy who hasnt scored a KO since shelby pudwill (the little brother of tucker pudwill)

    Fight goes 4 rounds tops
