There is a small controversy in Frochs great record. His fight with Andre Direll, many think Direll did enough to win this fight, what do you think?
I had it 6 a piece, with the point deduction being the deciding factor for Froch. Sure an argument could be made for Dirrell, but that was one of the most flagrantly cowardly performances I've seen in the last 25 years years, so **** him, he deserved to lose.
I had Froch, but Dirrel won his rounds a lot clearer, its just he spent do long running away it was hard to score him rounds.
What ive gotten so far is that Direll was spoiling a lot in the fight. Honestly im up for a good spoiling its not the worst thing in the world to me. If that **** works then its on the other boxer to stop it.
This was a tough one. At the time, I was OK with Froch winning, simply being more a fan of his than Dirrell. Would not have fought an argument for Dirrell though.
I had Dirrell winning and he won more clear rounds. He should have had the fight in the bag but he did no favors for constantly retreating. Froch did what he could against the guy who moved a lot. Would have liked to have seen a rematch. Still can't believe how underwhelming Dirrell's career turned out. Really wanted to see Andre Ward against Andre Dirrell.
Yeah he seemed like a guy who would at least have an ibf or wbc title on waist at one point but the closest he got was an interim title
Yeah he was clearly the better fighter between him and his brother Anthony but surprisingly Anthony Dirrell ended up winning a world title instead. Ever since he did that overdramatic crying performance against Abraham and his Dr Shaw High debacle his career just went downhill from there.
Pretty much this for me too. I remember thinking that Dirrell out pointed Froch but I was extremely satisfied when Carl got the nod. Dirrell had skills but I couldn't stand the knob. He lacked the heart that a champion needs.
I think thats a bit unfair to dirells style, which was obviously working, why go away from something that has brought you success.
At the time leaned froch Last time I watched it after 5 I had dirrel up in a shutout but turned it off but was surprised at the card I had Its not a great fight so it's not one in keen to watch a few times just to score I agree with the above post about dirrel winning his rounds bigger giving the perception that he won.
