I agree but i still had Froch winning. It was a very difficult fight to score. The challenger is supposed to take the title from the champ - Dirrell clearly did not do that. The ' agressor ' is supposed to get the nod in the close rounds - Froch was clearly the agressor, yet i still thought Dirrell landed more clean punches just not enough to win the decision

Dirrells negative tactics definitely hurt his chances, any time he came out of his shell he looked good, maybe he was afraid of Froch's power.I think the decision could have gone either way, a draw would probably have been the fairest result

It's been called to my attention that the rules of boxing now dictate that the boxer who leads with his face catching the most punches is deemed the winner providing he complements the feat by landing the most punches on thin air !

I wont bore you with boxing history but when I started following the sport 25 years ago the rules used to be a bit different. When did they change ?

Direll didn't come to fight. He didn't come to win. Why on earth is this clown still in the tournament. Showtime should withhold this moron's purse or at LEAST warn him if this ever happens again he's out for good.

Am from the Uk and there is no way that Froch won that fight regardless of how negative you percieved Dirrell to be Froch is a limited overrated Slugger who is lost if he fights anybody who doesnt want to stand and slug with him he was calling out Calzaghe for a while , Joe would destroy this clown. Anybody got the Compubox stats from last night ?

When inbetween clinching and complaining that fighter boxes the other fighters ears off. I was rooting for Froch to KO Dirrell but the wrong man got the decision.

Froch wouldn't have been able to body slam Dirrell if Andre wasn't holding on for dear life.

Same with the punching to the back of the head. Carl would throw punches then Andre would duck so they hit the back of his head. If you're going to fight like that then you deserve to be hit.

Dirrell's constant holding, running and falling over were far more annoying. Far too negative to win a fight.

Absolutely. The poll stands at 216-80 in favour of Dirrell. I picked Froch to win in the ESB Predictions League but even I could see Dirrell won the fight.

Froch got his face boxed in and was given a gift decision in England.

The comparison is valid insofar as they both fight "negatively" for apparently strategic reasons.
