I agree with you.....boxing is about landing punches, however you avoid punches you do what you can do not to get hit. What i saw is froch getting angry because he couldnt hit dirrell and thin he started getting very dirty....rabbit punches, troughing dirrell to the canvis....I must have miss something do you get points for troughing somebody down, do you get points for punching someone in the back the head...? that was all i saw froch do.....yes it was a ugly fight but I thought dirrell won hands down.

I almost feel like this fight is a weird photonegative of Hopkins - Taylor I. The more talented fighter loses because he waits until the last third to make his dominance obvious, then loses on the cards. Except where Hopkins thought he had it all planned out as part of some master strategy, Dirrell loses because he was too green to realize that he could have taken complete command earlier on.

I feel bad for the kid, but he'll learn from this.

Euros don't get top fight as easily as US based boxers.

But to answer your question, Calzaghe beat and KD'd boxing legend Chris Eubank in his 22nd fight. A man who was levels above Froch.

....................I had direll winning the fight but disagree with your critique of froch ....19 th fight ....too soon? well andre did not have to take the fight......no one held a gun to his head..! He has talent but needs to start fighting like a pro....he still fights like a golden glover...
And he will have trouble when he fights the other fighters in the tourny....I think his chin is questionable !

Dont forget Danny we Brits had to watch it around 3 in the morning.
Like myself, many of us have seen it once....... in the middle of the night.
I think Froch won,but at least be charitable and give us a chance to watch it again whilst not half asleep.
You guys had that luxury,we didnt.

Not only are most of us Brits admitting Froch was gifted the win, I think many of us are facing up to the fact that he's an extremely limited fighter who's bound to get outclassed badly against one or two of the other fighters in this tournament.
I'm a fan of his hard man mentality and determination, and he's a puncher, but he's just waiting to get slapped silly with the overall skill set he's bringing.
Dirrell was not much more than a novice and was fighting too scared for my liking, but he should have won. I reckon Kessler will destroy Froch, humiliate him.
I hope Froch can improve, but I was saying that after the Taylor and Pascal fights too. If anything Froch is regressing.

Yeah I thought Dirrell won the fight 114-113.

But I don't agree it was a robbery. When a fight is scored that close, you have to accept it can go either way.

    Froch was lucky, yeah.

The one saving grace about this decision is that this is a tournament, so we may well see Froch and Dirrell have to fight again.

I think a lot of Brits know full well that although Froch has an under rated skill set, he is certainly limited at world championship level. We'll see how all this pans out. I'm intrigued.

its clear the people speak louder than boxing officials.

All i will add if that was Mayweather he would have got the decision.

They fight the same and yet what i couldnt work out was how Froch got away with all the rabbit punching.

Oh well thats what boxing is these days. Politics. I'd love to see the punch stats. I think Froch maybe landed 20% all night.

Dirrell probably 40% and connected more. I dont either fighter really was impresive but Dirrell in my mind won the fight. by 4 rounds IMO.

Yes it was a ugly fight but direll landed punches and froch didnt.... may in that country you get points for tossing people to the ground, may you get points for holding and hitting people in the back of the head...! The people who scored this fight outta be ashame of themself

after Diaz vs Malignaggi it was almost 95% who thought Malignaggi won, and those scores were even wider in favour of Diaz. So all in all its not so bad.
