Because they generally are hype jobs. Lacy, Pavlic, Dawson will get KOed when he bumps i to a decent light heavy. Hell i would say Pascal KO's him. Then you have Chris Arreola. You guys go nuts over the most limited fighters and its ****ing shameful. But it makes it all the more entertaining when they come crashing down. Out of that list Dawson is the best fighter but even he has looked far from the saviour of American boxing in the fights he has had. Johnson and Tarver spring to mind. I would say only the fan boys who don't really follow boxing and get on board the press hype trains went for Lacy. I had Calzaghe winning but not as emphatically as he did purely down to the Lacy hype that came flooding over the Atlantic. It was impossible not to get caught up in the Hype train.
ALL of the judges had Jermain up big for the first 6 or 7 rounds. He was CONTROLLING the fight until Froch's strength and pressure ate Jermain's terrible stamina alive. So like I said, if Jermain didnt tire, he wins big.
atsch This is a dumb post...and proves my earlier post about the xenophobia on this site to be gospel.
I totally agree, Froch is in way over his head and to all the people who say Dirrell is being hyped, NOBODY IS HYPING DIRRELL. People are just pointing out that Dirrell has the cryptonite for Froch. Froch is slow of hand and foot and it will be like watching Ali against Joe Bugner LOL
Nothing to do with stamina? Controlled the fight from round 6 on? You have obviously never watched the fight...or your completely biased. Lets look at a couple reports from the fight...from both the US and the UK...just to be fair. From telegraph in the UK... "Froch was behind on two of the three judge's scorecards – 106-102, and inexplicably, 106-102 ahead on judge Jack Woodburn's card – when he launched his attack in the final stanza. Quite how Froch was marked as being four points ahead in a fight dominated by Taylor's boxing skills – is a mystery." Here is more... "Taylor had been seen in the United States as a clear favourite to remove Froch from the throne he claimed – in another thriller – in December last year in a unanimous points victory over Canadian Jean Pascal in his home town of Nottingham. That was a ding-dong battle, but this one stark in contrast. Before stunning and hurting Taylor, Froch was offered a boxing lesson by the American, who moved and picked his punches cleverly until exhaustion, and Froch's power, set in, in round eleven." Read more: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/ot...uper-middleweight-against-Jermain-Taylor.html From the NY Daily News... "After taking a pounding for nearly the entire fight, Froch (25-0, 20 KOs) came out firing in the final round and stunned Taylor with two rights followed by a left uppercut that put Taylor on the deck. Taylor (28-3-1, 17 KOs) stayed down and was nearly counted out before climbing to his feet. Froch jumped on Taylor, who was still groggy from the knockdown, and started pummeling him again. Taylor took a couple of hard shots before referee This content is protected stopped it. It was a good stoppage." "The last round I was hoping that my intuition was right that Jermain Taylor was tired," Froch said. Read more: This content is protected So, not only was it apparent that Taylor controlled most of the fight (two entirely different publications...as well as EVERY SINGLE REPORT I HAVE SEEN from both fans and media alike)...but Froch himself said that Taylor had tired by the end, which clearly effected his output and his movement. Go watch the fight, its plain as day. Your clearly a fan...and theres nothing wrong with that, but dont attempt to spread bias as gospel. atsch
You are a ****ing moron. Pavlik is the undisputed Middleweight champion of the world. Dawson is by far the best light heavy in the world. What pot are they selling in bournemouth? Jesus how could anyone question anyones boxing knowledge when you compared Lacy to ****ing Dawson, Pavlik and Dirrell. Is every top American going to be compared to Lacy by you Brits? Because you had one top elite fighter since Lennox Lewis?
i am british and think dirrell deserves to be in the super six as much as any of the others in it. remember everyone deserves there shot and it is time to test ward and dirrell. although i do think froch will KO or stop him ,i would not be too surprised if dirrell pulled off the UD.
Sorry mate but anyone who says that JT's loss had nothing to do with his stamina issues is talking hore****.
Anybody betting against Froch are taking a big big risk in my opinion. Seems a lot are judging the outcome of Froch v Dirrell, purely on Froch's last fight against Taylor. Froch was poor against Taylor, he took ages to get going and basically handed the first 6 rounds away and yet he STILL WON! People can say Froch got lucky because Taylor gassed out and you might very well be right, but nobody seems to be mentioning that Froch was really off form that night. Froch, fighting in his hometown of Nottingham, defending his World Title will be a different monster altogether. He now truly knows he deserves to be mixing it with the best in the world. Look back at Froch v Pascal. Pascal is a quick, heavy handed fighter (before anyone jumps on this, I'm not comparing him to Dirrell, I'm simply stating that Pascal is quick and powerful at SMW). Froch did not look outclassed at all, took ALL of Pascals shots and eventually took over in the 2nd half of the fight to win. Has Dirrell ever been in with this standard of opponent before? What happens if his shots just bounce of Frochs chin and then he's getting hunted round the ring? I doubt Dirrell has ever had to face anything like that yet. All I'm saying is that Dirrell is, so far, untested at this level. Froch is a very dangerous opponent. He's unbeaten at SMW, he's a World Champion at SMW, he has a great chin, his face never marks up and he has good power in both hands. Its sure to be an exciting opening round fight.
