Froch vs Dirrell rematch outcome possibilities...

I admit I had no idea that Froch would take apart Bute that easily. I knew Froch isn't scared to fight, and I had a feeling that Bute didn't like to be touched, but I assumed Bute's powerful counterpunching would keep Froch tenative from engaging and he would likely lose a closley contested decision.

Instead, Froch didn't give Bute any room to hide, nor any air to breath, as he waited patiently to land his punches where he knew Bute's head would be. While he did take some punches he could have avoided if he would have moved, he did take the punches extremely well and landed his own in response.

Dirrell's overall athleticism, difficulty to hit, and deceptive power make him a very challenging opponent for anybody in his division. He is faster than Bute and has deceptive power.

The problem recently with Dirrell is his inactivity. He hasn't fought near the competition level that he fought against two years ago. In contrast, Froch has been fighting the best the division has to offer, getting the best of just about everyone and only clearly losing to Ward.

Froch did a great job against Glen Johnson who tried to use pressure to close the distance against him, but his great effort considering his age, was not nearly on the same level as Ward's, who didn't give Froch any room to breath.

Ward beat Froch with a style that Dirrell will most likely not use. Dirrell prefers to fight on the outside and to counterpunch his opponent, but will try to land punches first and throw in combinations as he showed against Abraham.

Abraham of course is not the same fighter as Froch who has a longer reach and has recently shown great patience before engaging. Bute, like Dirrell, who prefers to counterpunch was not able to get to Froch because Froch kept a cautious distance, but still close enough to land his own punches.

While Bute doesn't have the same speed of movement as Dirrell, Froch still managed to show an impressive ability to cut off the ring, and consistantly corner his opponent.

Froch had success in his last meeting with Dirrell in so far as getting him against the ropes, but he did not have the level of patience that one obtains through experience, so he wasted too many shots.

Based on Froch's signficant improvements and Dirrell's inactivity, I think Froch will cut off the ring much more effectively and eventually stop Dirrell, probably late. I think there is a chance Dirrell may score a knockdown against a complacent Froch that doesn't believe he can be hurt, but if that does happen, I think Froch will get up and regain his composure like a true champion.

    What's your take?

He will fight Kessler. Hes not going to fight Dirrell again. Dirrell would not fight him in England again, and he could not fill a high school gym in america.

If Dirrell is anything like what he was against Abraham, I think he beats Froch.

That first fight - with Froch - taught him a hell of a lot. And really, if he hadn't showed him too much respect and wasn't too afraid to let his hands go earlier, he could have taken it.

So, a Froch-Dirrell II at a neutral would see a Dirrell win, in my opinion.

If he can't get the fight with Kessler, this is probably the best time to fight Dirrell for Froch.

If he fights Dirrell now, he has the best liklihood of winning impressively. On the split side if Dirrell wins, he relevant as an elite fighter again.

He will get the fight with Kessler. Kessler was at the fight and said he wants the rematch. It will huge in Europe. They will both make millions.

Since Dirrell disgraced himself against AA, he has done nothing. He would need to beat somebody in the top 10 to get Froch, and then would have to go to England, just b/c of $.

Dirrell beats Froch again. Froch knows this so Froch will not fight Dirrell.

Perhaps, but if for whatever reason this fight doesn't happen, I think a fight with Dirrell is probably the most marketable fight, despite how bad the fight was the first time.

Apparently there are questions by both sides, so a rematch would put it to rest, and both fighters would make out well.

If I was Froch's team, I would consider this thoroughly, especially considering Froch just fought a dangerous southpaw counterpuncher and won spectacularly.

i thought he loss to dirrell but i had no problems with froch winning the fight i thought froch beat kessler and no problems with kessler winning the fight. well i thought froch did better against kessler then dirrell did against froch. froch has fought the best of the best from all over the world and all different styles (like that slick **** i like). i think froch deserves a break and a easy fight next. but he had a offer win or lose against nathan kid
he could take that fight maybe. or maybe kelly pavlik will challenge him at 168, i know hopkins pissed he had to fight dawson and not get his fight with bute.that would have been his poor ass joe calzaghe win right there.

froch vs pavlik make it happen - for de faanns !

You don't know the future. Let's assume they make the fight. I don't think there is any reason to believe that Froch will duck this fighter.

When has Froch shown a history of ducking?

He is going to fight Kessler for many reasons, not only is the best fight he also makes 5x as much money.

Now Pavlik and dirrell could fight each other. Neither have done anything in years at the elite level. Then the winner could go for the winner of that fight.

I think it's smart money for Froch to challenge Dirrell if he doesn't get that fight with Kessler.

And he ought to do it next.

Dirrell probably is the better pure boxer he has a massive speed and skill advantage and is also a lot more athletic than Froch but I have no doubt if they fought again Froch would win in a much clearer manner.
Nothing i've seen from Dirrell has shown me he has the mentality to be a top elite level fighter.
He's 28 and has had one fight in the last 2 years does he really want to be fighter?
