It's not a bad decision. it was a close fight. End of discussion.

For the record, Martinez-Cintron because Martinez knocked Kermit out and ended up with a draw. For once it was true:

"you'll have to knock him out to get a draw in this town."

If quantity of punches is the only scoring criterion - perhaps the gloves should have pressure sensors covering the parts of the glove it is legal to use in a punch, like in fencing. Then we could do away with the judges!

If you hit the opponent the most because you run around the ring, dart in to tap him a couple of times, then immediately hold - is that a legal way to box? If so, why is it legal? It's not entertaining. It's not even fighting - it's gamesmanship. It's against the spirit of the sport. You might as well go and watch fencing.

The first real sport analogous to modern boxing took place in the Circus Maximus in Rome. The boxers stood inside a circle marked on the ground (the "ring"). It was a fight to the death. Eventually it became full-blown gladiatorial combat after the introduction of the leather thong (wrapping for the hand's protection) led to hardened leather, then hardened leather with spikes/blades attached, then other weaponry. It eventually got too violent for it's own good and was banned, only to reappear in a somewhat sanitised form in the 17th century.

Boxing originally died as a sport due to excessive violence. However, that's no reason for it to become a virtual non-contact sport today, with judging that rewards only the huggers, the runners, the divers, and the tappers. Boxing is a combat sport, after all - IMO, the judging needs to keep the correct balance between the two parts, i.e. a bit more combat and a bit less sport.

Yeah I remember that Corley fight vs the tall Puerto Rican Hector Sanchez.

I remember Corley getting an early Knockdown...but I thought Sanchez won that fight...I may have to watch it again.

    Diaz vs Malinaggi...I agree
Stum vs Gevor...I disagree on this one.

    What a stupid question.

    Martinez v Cintron

    McDermott v Fury

Both don't even compare to what was a completely warranted narrow win for Froch against the nephew of Carl Lewis.
