He did bash up Groves pretty bad, although he's lost since he's not been put on his pants like that. The rematch with the Dane was pretty impressive too
Georgie Boy got knocked spark out. After all the talking he did, rewatching that must keep him awake at night. General concensus is that George has not been the same fighter since. Next question.....
As I said, name Carl's best and CLEAR wins in his prime. Dirrell? S****ed it. Abraham? He has done NOTHING at SMW. Groves? Carl's face was getting bounced all over by him in their first fight, has done nothing since. Kessler? Yeah, after going life and death with him. Bute? Decent win, but Bute had a tin of unwarranted hype around him. Mack? LOL! You have a habit of picking and choosing what you want to answer.
Your comment are the same as soon one football team was all over the other one but in the end lost 5-0 haha. He stopped Groves twice, he is a warrior and has never pledged to be an elusive fighter, he's old school gladiator. He is not a points winner type of fighter, but that doesn't mean he he is not better than the purist, especially if he is the one standing over them at the end of the evening
GGG would be giving up too much in size, strength and reach. He's technically a much better fighter (obviously) and his punch power is impressive. But froch has a tried and tested game plan for keeping big punching smaller men at arms length, I'm thinking AA. Plus Froch is saying he can probably only make 172 now, so if the fight happened he'd be huge.
What about Pascal and Taylor? Two of his best wins IMO. You say Carl gets tagged and goes life and death - that's his style, he guts it out with people, takes them into the trenches (in his words) and grinds out a win or late stoppage in a war. I don't think he's ever claimed to be some kind of elusive technician.
I think GGG is better technically but Froch is bigger and most importantly will match him for intangibles and that's where the fight will be won for him. Froch's kryptonite is talented technical boxers like Ward, even Dirrell, Calzaghe, even Kessler, not GGG who is quality but will naturally have an ego associated with his power.
I know this takes it away from a 'british thread question' but just looking into why Canelo will not fight GGG at Middleweight when he fought Cotto at the same weight ? Him going back to LM, is that just cos he's scared of GGG ?
I think GGG on points, nobody is knocking out the Cobra that's for sure but I think GGG wouldn't be far off, maybe Froch in his prime but at this moment it's hard to say he wins this. Of course I'd love to see Froch beat him, never know as Carl says maybe he's "Too big and too strong"
