He said he would move up. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FlwxlrPGyC0 Froch just handled a young and up in coming SMW in Groves and wouldn't want to fight a 33 year old Triple G who is willing to move up from MW? Who also is the biggest name in his own division as well. Those guys are bums. Froch is the biggest name at 168 right now and if he is willing to move up he should take the fight and get KO'ed like a true champ.:bbb:bbb
Froch wants to fight another MW who lost to Martinez and who looked terrible against his fights with Vera. The fight won't be a successful PPV, and does nothing to enhance his legacy. If he beat Triple G in his prime, he becomes immortal.
Yes he got put down by Groves but he was never really close to being stopped, got up from a monster shot and then walked through everything else. Froch/Chavez Jr is PPV, Arum said it's PPV worthy, they believe it could bring a combined $50 million from US and UK PPV sales. Froch will only risk it if he is paid. He's already made his legacy, he's not looking to add to his legacy or simply pass time and make another defence. It's now about checking that one last box and fighting in Vegas and making a load of cash before retiring. If it doesn't happen then he simply isn't interested in fighting again and he'll just retire.
No then his legacy would be tarnished because he not opting to fight the best MW. Also Arum thought Pac-Algeri would do a whole lot more than it did(and that's Pacquiao!!)So how do you think Froch-Chaves would do? When no one in the US know who he really is. Triple G is willing to fight Froch in UK, with UK fans supporting Froch, UK judges, and UK referee. If Froch wins, he'll be immortal. He's afraid though because he wants a fight where he knows what the outcome will be.
Triple G is the far more superior boxer with supreme power than Groves. Froch's willingnss to exchange and lack of defense would lead him to getting KO'ed easily by Triple G. Froch won't take the fight though because he's scared. You're comparing Abraham to Triple G. Abraham has no power and doesn't have the skills like Triple G does. This fight would not go to the scorecards.
Froch's legacy dwarfs Golovkin's at the moment it's not even comparable. Why does Froch need Golovkin? Froch beating Golovkin wouldn't even rank as Froch's best win. He's already beaten 2 previous middleweight champions in Taylor and AA. Froch's 2 wins over these 2 former middles is better than anything on Golovkin's resume. Arum thinks the fight will sell. Chavez Jr is a good draw in the states and Froch is not an unknown in the US. He beat Taylor in the US, fought in the Super 6 and his fights with Groves got him a lot of attention. British fans will be willing to travel and now Froch has never been so popular so could see thousands of fans going to Vegas. Of course Golovkin is willing to travel, he can't sell out a 20,000 arena in the US like Froch can in the UK and he travels already to fight in the US so coming over to the UK is actually closer to home for him. If Froch does beat Golovkin it would be a good win but many would say Golovkin is unproven at the top level which he is, he hasn't even beaten the best at middle, though that's not his fault. How a Golovkin win would be perceived would have much more to do with how Golovkin does after the Froch fight.
Your're seriously comparing JT and AA to Triple G? He is the best at MW and if Froch fights JCCJR it would be ducking the best MW to fight one who everyone knows is below Triple G. Second Froch doesn't move the needle in the US. Froch-Chavez would easily do less than 175,000. If Froch were to beat a future long reigning champion in Triple G than he would become an immortal. Golovkin is already a bigger name than Froch in the US, and would do a whole lot more if a fight between him and Chavez would than Froch-Chavez which hasn't been approved yet. Froch-GGG would be massive in the UK, but it obviously has a greater risk to Froch who would prefer fighting someone he can easily beat. Fans want Froch to fight Triple G, and than maybe James Degale, not JCCJR.
