I thought you were implying that Stevens lacks pop when he has a big fight due to being nervous or something like that. I get what you're saying, but unlike Froch GGG did not go down after being hit with a flush hook, it didn't even faze him. Imo that shot would have took a lot of the 160 pound division out. Carl is a great fighter no doubt, but GGG is just on another level in my opinion. Trust me, as a Ward fan I would be bigging Froch up more than GGG if I truly believed they were even close, or Froch had a chance.
Should be a poll option for Draw (though I don't think that'd happen)/ Too close to call. Golovkins ceiling appears stratospheric but is yet to be proven whereas Froch is proven at the very highest level but has been beaten. This is one of the very best fights that could be made for me and would make my year - **** I'd probably take it over Floyd - Pac if I had to choose. The rising tide of GGGs pressure against the granite cliffs of Frochs chin - who wins? IDfknK... if I had to pick I think Golovkins superior technique might eke him out a points victory but I sure as hell wouldn't be putting any money down.
ggg doesn't have to go toe to toe with froch he could box froch's ears off there is a big difference in skill between the two.going toe to toe would favor froch ggg has the smarts and skills to avoid that and fight his fight.:deal
johnson is no bum Stevens has game changing power at any time he can end a fight.he couldn't land those left hooks because of ggg defensive skills his defense is underrated.ggg looks easy to hit because he goes all out offensively to ko guys and does not care about getting hit when he knows he cant be hurt.
I think ggg would make it look easy against froch.ward is the only boxer I would favor over golovkin.
In 2013 I was getting into arguments that Ward would completely dominate and school Golovkin but now I really see it as a pick-em fight. GGG is just that good that he's even converted me an ex GGG hater into a good boy. I'd love to see that fight. I woulda gave an active Ward a slight advantage due to style and being a bit more skilled imo, but I don't know how good Ward is right now, and he's had a lot of injuries so if GGG took it I wouldn't be surprised.
And here I am a Eastern European ****rider arguing for Froch and yes I think Ward is too good for him too.
Exactly, GGG has a granite, titanium chin that he inherited from his big boned Russian father. He shows no fear and will keep on swinging after he is tagged. Froch is great, but GGG will just dig deeper This would be a great fight
Froch has a great chin no doubt but he's too easy to hit with those slow reflexes of his and hands low defence. He's been hurt on numerous occasions too. In addition to getting dropped by Groves (albeit a peach of a shot), he's also been dropped by Taylor, rocked and hurt by Dirrell, hurt by Kessler in both of their fights, and I'm sure Charles Adamu made his legs dip a little with a big overhand right or left at one point during their fight too. I remember seeing him get stung quite a few times in some of his earlier fights as well. Look at how many times he's rocked and stunned in this fight against Dale Westerman. Granted he's improved since then but it's alarming how easy he was to hit back then. Just watch the first three rounds. [YT]YqcVFxOSgQU[/YT]
If golovkin was a speedy fighter I would agree, speed seems to be froch's downfall but he can box cautious aswell like he did in groves 2 and Abraham.he has a good jab and a good reach advantage over ggg.i'm not sticking up for one over the other,I like them both and wouldn't back either with any certainty,I think one of the biggest factors has got to be how much more punishment can frock take because he's getting on and been in war after war
Both would be close but I think Froch TKO's him late and Ward UD's him 7-5 or 8-4ish. They're next level for a reason and while Murray is durable he's never impressed me as far as his boxing skills go, so GGG beat the hell out of him that was to be expected, the only thing that I didn't expect was how much punishment he could take, was it because Murray is tough, partially, or is it because GGG is a small MW and Murray was a SMW that night which helped him take his punches. AA, Taylor and Kessler were big punchers at MW but not so much at SMW. While it may not seem like it those 8 pounds make a lot of difference in fighters ability to take a punch and power wise.
