I think Froch's power is actually underrated by some. He's not really a one shot put you to sleep kind of guy (George Groves might disagree with that though ), but he has very heavy hands. Pascal said he hits ''crazy hard'' and he was definitely feeling the weight of some of Froch's shots during their fight too. He wasn't really hurt by them or anything but you could see a look of surprise at how hard he'd been hit in his eyes on a couple of occasions.
lol froch couldn't tko kessler, abraham, direll(who I had winning), Pascal, and Johnson but he stops GGG? Who besides Taylor has Froch stopped that isn't packing glass? Bute and Groves are the definition of glass jawed. The reason why Murray lasted so long was because the fight should have been stopped a couple rounds before that, and he was in a shell, if he was trading more he would have been stopped badly earlier. I think you're highly overrating Froch.
Let's not forget that Froch said that Kessler's body shot were ''killing me'' in that first fight and everyone knows Golovkin is a murderous body puncher, hence why he breaks ribs and many of his sparring partners have to wear protective body armour when sparring him.
He couldn't stop them because Kessler Johnson Abraham and Pascal have Iron Chins, Dirrell he couldn't catch to punch, as far as Froch goes he knows he can't just go in guns blazing and try to bomb out GGG he'll do the same thing he did with AA and Groves in the second match and try to outbox him at a distance and if he hurts him go on the attack, its not that hard when he has a constantly incoming target to eat him eat his jabs all night, and Froch hits hard enough to make GGG reconsider his forward aggression just a little, it'll make him more cautious as well. And as far as Murray goes he did the same thing as Stevens did he covered up and tried to survive but he lasted longer because he's more durable.
And you and many others underrate him, let's wait until GGG has a resume a little closer to Froch's (which its not even close) before we start thinking he's The GOAT.
To be fair who has golovkin fought who are anywhere near the standards of the fighters you have mentioned who froch has fought.and to bring Abraham who has only ever been stopped on an injury,a man who fought over half a fight with a badly broken jaw against a murderous puncher and fought onto win as is Kessler, the manner of fight dirrell fought froch was basically running round the ring after him, pascal and Johnson both have rock solid China,so yes they are all more tested in the chin department than golovkin at smw
Thing is if Golovkin doesn't get you out of there early or by the mid rounds you're going to be on the wrong end of a horrendous beating, well at least so far that has proven to be true. Froch's too slow and easy too hit and Golovkin is packing anvils in his fists and has plenty of skill and savvy to complement his power. I can't see Froch winning this unless he manages to hurt Golovkin and knock him out.
You think a Johnson in his 40's, Kessler, and Pascal have better chins than GGG? Anyways like I said name me someone who isn't glass jawed that he's stopped, or name someone with a good chin that he's stopped. If froch does have the power to keep him off which I doubt, GGG has enough amateur backround to box him in a different way. He's not a one dimensional brawler. Murray is a better win than Groves. He was robbed against Strum and gave Martinez his first loss in arguably over a decade. Even if you give Groves a win over Degale those 2 wins surpass Degale and the other mediocre opposition. If Groves fought like Murray did there is no way Froch would have got him out of there.
Please, a man in his 40's does not have a better chin than GGG. Are you from the UK? Obviously they are more tested since GGG has not fought at 168, but are you telling me any of those guys have a better chin, forget tested. Obviously GGG has not fought the same opposition as Froch, but his wins aren't even that great. Name some truly elite fighters he beat. If he beat Kessler in the 1st one I'd give you that, but he beat a Kessler who hasn't fought since meaning he didn't have much in the tank 3 years after he beat Froch. Groves is mediocre, and Pascal was still incredibly green at the time, he had fought no one, no way was he elite. Abraham you can make an argument for, but he's lost every fight against elite opposition. Dirrell he lost to, I mean if you look at the compubox, and you know boxing you know Direll clearly won that fight.
I'll give you an idea how good Johnson's chin is still, Junior Makabu a massive Cruiserweight with an 18 wins 17 KO's record, he has pretty scary power, it took him until the 9th round to stop Johnson just last year, and he didn't go down even then. Yeah Glen has a pretty damn good chin. As does Pascal Kessler and Abraham. If they fought Murray would be schooled and KO'd by Groves, Murray's tough but is an average boxer.
if froch is true to his word about wanting to fight ggg which I doubt we wont need to compare resumes.froch will be a nice scalp in ggg's resume.ps just because I think ggg would beat froch does not mean I think he's the goat there you go overrating froch again.
But he was stopped. Something Froch couldn't do. Anyways just try answering my question. Who has Froch stopped that isn't glass jawed? There's no way he's stopping GGG. Groves couldn't school Rebrasse but he's going to school Murray? Doubt that. I don't think an average boxer can beat Strum or Martinez either. Resume wise without robberies, and giving Groves the Degale win which I thought was a robbery his resume is still better.
See for yourself. Glen has an amazing chin. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SyVs6QORTEQ And Murray wasn't robbed against Martinez or Sturm, it was a draw at best in both matches and I'm being generous. Geale and Soliman and Macklin beat Sturm better than Murray did.
