You can speed up that 'too early' process up by getting him over to America and having good, hard sparring with top contenders like Ward, Dirrell. Come fight night, he'll be more than savvy against Froch.

The key thing though is the stamina....Froch has it even in the 12th round. Can Groves go that hard and not gas out?

That granite chin has been showing signs of weakening.

Groves, has a small shot to pull this off. It will not be easy for Carl.

I think Carl will stop George around the 9th. Groves to have some success early on but I believe the kid will get carried away and lose concentration. Froch will come on strong and take the fight away from him before smashing him on the ropes at the ref jumping in.

Hell of a win for Groves if he pulls this off. Bit soon for him though I think, Froch will stop him mid to late rounds.

I think Froch has an underrated jab, as shown in his last fight against Kessler.

i cant look past a froch win....

but watching adam booth with haye over the years only let haye pick fights who he knew he would win i cant help but think they are wanting this because they know froch is on the decline and are attacking at the right time before hes considered (shot)...

either way well done to both guys for taking it..gd fight

Great fight, I gotta feeling Groves is gonna finally crack that chin

Who was the last guy Froch fought that can bang as hard as Groves? (SMW Abraham doesn't count)

Kessler can bang and caught Froch with bombs that would've sparked many.

True but I think Kesslers power has faded a bit over the years

groves barely beat degale and hasnt fought anyone of note since, froch isnt getting knocked out and i cant see it going the distance..

groves cant lose, he pissed froch off sparring with kessler and got himself a fight :)
win or lose he can only gain from the experience..

i dont think froch wouldve fought him by choice this time last year..
so astute management of groves :)

this is going to be a great fight, man. props to the Saint.

i could see Groves on top but with Carl coming back with a late stoppage. but i won't rule Groves out. he's a live underdog here.

just imagine if Groves gives him a beating and stops Carl? that would be a huge statement and a great win. either way, this is one of the best fights in the division.

if there's anyone out there that you should stick to the tactics against, it's Froch.

Groves will do well to keep that in mind.

but yeah, i can see where you're coming from.
if Groves IS on top early he needs to stay disciplined and not get caught up in it. because if he tries to mix it with Carl, the form book tells us it will be good night.

Groves needs to keep it long and use his speed and skill. also, he needs Carl to respect his power so he doesn't just walk through George. give Froch something to think about in there.

if George sticks to the plan, he does have a great chance here.
