Froch vs Groves 2 Predictions

Similar to the first fight in the sense that Groves will be winning but Froch will get to him late on and stop him.

 

either like the first one or if time catches up to froch he may get beat up bad and stopped

 

Froch is one of the few boxers that i genuinely don't like but for me he'll win the rematch with Groves and it won't be anything as close as their first fight.

Groves hit Froch with everything but the Kitchen sink in their first fight and still couldn't win, how the hell is he going to win if Froch performs better in the rematch?

Sure it was a premature stoppage in the first fight but i'm certain if Froch hadn't stopped him later in Round 9 he would have eventually stopped Groves in the 10th, 11th or 12th.

Groves is a good young fighter but people are over-rating him, he'll lose to Froch in the rematch and he'll never be the same fighter again.

In all seriousness though, I'm siding towards Carl at the mo. The more I think, read and see may change my mind in the coming months, however.

 

I think froch points. Groves takes early rounds . Froch uses his jab more. Once froch hurts groves, it'll take a lot out of him. Starts breaking him down.

 

I just think the wars may catch up to froch and just cause you take punishment in one fight doesn't mean you can take it again. I think he will get battered and stopped, and then I hope groves ko lee froch and that beard **** and make it a hat trick

 

Lee Froch jumps into the ring and the brothers then tag team Groves.

The real interest will be watching touts with pockets full of tickets chasing Eddie around the stadium.

 

Fighters as disciplined and clean living like Froch don't age overnight or their ring wars catch up with them. They're beatable by Elite fighters such as Ward but are too good for young up and coming fighters like Groves.

Froch will beat Groves, probably go on to fight either Ward or Chavez jr and get beat by them and then retire a rich man with 3 losses to his name.

 

I hope Groves can do it but reality tells me Froch will be in it for the long haul and take George out in the 2nd half of the fight.

There is a chance that Froch will have slipped badly and Grove could get a shocking early KO, its not out of the question but unlikely imo.

Also people assume that George cant improve on the first fight but he can in a few ways, he did make a few mistakes that could be reversed. Such as getting drawn into brawls with Froch and not pacing himself. Is it possible for him to effectively make those adjustments though? there is no practice run. can he out fox Carl for the whole 12 rounds, one dip in energy and Froch will be on him.

So unless Froch is shot I see him getting the win even though I'd prefer George be the victor.

 

Good post but the problem is he didn't get drawn in to a brawl on purpose, he was just so knackered that he didn't have the energy to carry on doing what he did the first 7 rds. Now if he paces himself in the second fight that will mean he throws less punches and moves less which is just going to allow Froch to get to him quicker then in their first fight and as we know once Froch has a fighter hurt he finishes them off.

I don't see any way how Groves wins the rematch, if he goes all out like he did the first time he'll get tired and knocked out. If he paces himself and fights a more crafty tacticle fight, Froch will eventually catch up to him and take him out or win on points.

 

Think Froch stops him late

If Froch can get knocked down heavy in the first and still come back after looking dazed for 5 rounds straight then as long as he can avoid getting badly hurt he will catch Groves when he gasses

 

I pretty much agree. If Groves doesn't have that intensity he had from the beginning of the first fight Carl will be allowed to get a foot hold, so a slower start is out from Groves. My guess is that he will again be keyed up to take Froch out, he has already predicted that he expects the fight to be like a short Hagler Hearns war, maybe talk, maybe not. So unless George manages to take out Froch in the first 3 or 4 rounds I cant see him winning it either.

 

I think Groves proved last fight that his chin is better than people thought. He did take a lot of clean shots and although he was rocked I don't think Froch has the power to put him out cleanly, at least not unless multiple, multiple salvos lands. I mean he ducked straight into one of Froch's right hooks and it merely rocked him, Groves ain't got no Bute chin on him like everyone thought.

Froch's guard is really open and utterly unconvincing, I expect Groves to continually land big shots on him. The only question is can Froch eat those shots again without going down (perhaps for the count this time).

Groves didn't pace himself too well in the last fight although that is something that can be rectified more to do with tactics then conditioning imo, so for people thinking he is necessarily going to gass out again, that need not be the case.

 

I'd LOVE Groves to beat him up again and go on to a points victory but Froch is always dangerous. That's what makes me love this fight, I still see it as a genuine 50/50.
