It would, so I think we should forget the argument of getting him on PPV because no matter how much complaining we do, we won't get him on a seperate PPV.

Froch/Johnson should be able to get onto regular Sky, at the least, as ishy said.

 

True that fat Mick has done carl **** moneywise and publicity wise but it shows the character of froch that he's just got on with it. Frochs run of fights will be remembered as the highest standard fights in a stretch for a long long time by a Brit. Would he have this chance without fat Mick?

Frochs misfortune has been the making of him really, with a bigger promoter he wouldn't have the respect he does from real boxing fans, although more fannnys would know him and he'd have more money.
Depends what you want really...you can look at it this way:
FM delivered a WBC belt, big opponents and a chance to regain the title. So whilst he isquite ****, he ain't totally useless

 

Lazarus, I think what you are alluding to is that Warren/Khan had a 5 fight deal with SBO, which ran out before the Malignaggi fight? Ran from Prescott to Salita. So while Malignaggi may have been the reason it wasn't on Box Office (along with the start time), you are trying to say if that hadn't run out he would have been PPV regardless?

That's true but the only reason the viewing figures wouldn't be high is because most people don't really know who he is. The only reason for that is because Sky haven't been buying up his fights and selling them. It's a bit of a circle.

 

Would be hard to believe they considered the Salita fight a better one, I think they regretted the multi fight PPV deal.

 

Not defending Sky here but Hennessy has to pull the finger out and at least get a date and venue nailed on first and foremost. Sky can't commit to anything otherwise. Wouldn't be surprised to see it end up on regular sky. Really pissed off though hearing this news in light of reading yesterday an article by Glyn Leach in boxing monthly saying that Sky are paying both DeGale and Groves's purses on May 21st, Coldwell not paying a penny despite submitting the winning bid. Sky paying their ****ing purses!!! If Smith had the final say on this and gave it the ok then he should resign because he is out of his depth or if it wasn't his decision then you would wonder how much power he has in his new position if they are going over his head with **** like that anyway.

 

Perhaps they havn't been buying them because Mick Hennessy has done a **** of a job promoting him? Therefore the figures don't stack up. After all, they backed him when he was a prospect coming up so its not personal.

Very good point there pal. We all know what Fwank Warren is like, can you see him letting Froch fight this long run of good fighters? very doubtful. Maybe the idiot micks incompetence has helped Froch on the legacy side to true boxing fans. Although he obv is not earning the reddies he could have been. If Carl was with Sky few years back then would have a TV following under them and so they would have been backing him, seems like Sky dont want to invest in Carl at this stage of his career, hope i am wrong for his future fights.

 

It will be a **** fight. Froch versus a solid gatekeeper. WD to sky for not showing this poor excuse of a fight.

 

When Smith tried to justify the Haye-Harrison farce of a ppv by saying we got our moneys worth by getting to see the build up to it and hearing from Lewis and Bruno on fight night, i wanted to punch him in the mouth. Should of known then it was a sign of things to come.
