Anyone care to settle a drunken arguement for me, I was staggered when my usually knowlegeable mate suggested that Kahn had a supurior reccord to froch and being a stubon ****er i've decided to see if the what the internent experts think? For me the Key thing is that Kahn never took on the best at domestic or european level (although he probably had no intentention of waiting around as long as froch did) even Looking at their best 5 names on each reccord froch seems streets ahead: Froch 1. Pascal (The best name on there and this win looks better and with every pascal win since) 2.Taylor (Former hopkins conquerour and P4P top 10er, everybody thought the step up in weight would help him find his form, oh and in his backyard with froch as a big outsider with the bookies) 3. Dirrell (At the time an Extremley highly regarded young american talent who by hook or by crook beat Abraham) 4. Kessler (Even in defeat, and even though Kessler was on the back of a defeat froch took on and ran one of the best and certainly toughest european boxers extremley close in a fight so brutal it could turn out to be Mikel's last) 5. Magee (Froch takes out his best possible domestic opposition and again this win looks even better with Magee's recent european sucsess. Kahn 1. Kotelnik (Tough as mustard and in the form of his life, comprehenisive win but is kotelnik who is arguably the best performance on Kahn's record an elite, big time fighter) 2. Barrera (One of the biggest active names out there but MAB was fighting way out of his natural weight and was badly shop worn also the manner in which he won left a nasty taste, with that cut the fight should have been stoped in the 2nd shabby way to treat a true legend) 3. Malignaggi (Another good win against a well regarded, talented and determenied operator who was comming off a career best win againt Diaz but some have argued that the magic man is a glorified gate keeper and I don't think thats a million miles away from the truth) 4. Salita (Errr Supose you could say he was unbeaten at the time, and Kahn destroyed him in a round but thats about it, not the kind of fight that will have us talking long after he has hung them up) 5. Earl (Former domestic kingpin who had just been smashed into a million peices by Katsidis in a total war)
Froch's record is better at this point. Fought the guys in there prime, away from home against Taylor and Kessler in a war that IMO was closer then lot of people give him credit for. The Magee win has been given some more weight now he's champion of Europe. Salita is worse opponent you could put on a list. Might aswell say Graham Earl or Oisin ***an was a better win tbh. Paulie was already in semi retirement and wanted one last shot. His legs were not there for a while and he stated after previous bouts he only in sport for the £££. The Barrera fight grates with me even to this day and i refuse to acknowledge it as a win on Khan's record. The Kotelnik win is a very good win especially after Kotelnik's fight against Alexander. Boxing Purisits know that Froch's record at this point is better.
no comparison froch by miles and miles khans a better fighter but hes not stepped right up there yet froch has and hes won alot of them
Stupid debate really. Carl Froch has a good resume and is prepared to fight anybody and reguarly does that. Amir Khan has fought nobody and isnt prepared to fight anybody and ducks and dives to pick the easiest fights available to him unless forced into a corner like with Maidana.
Apologies fella's. A Boxing fan hacked my account. Damn Boxing fans :-( Khan beating Salita alone beats anyone on Froch's record :hi:
Froch's record nahmsayin is currently superior to Khan's nahmsayin but as long as Khan doesn't get chin checked which he may well do soon nahmsayin he has some good potential and stuff, nahmsayin.
Only an idiot would pick khans record over frochs. Carl has fought like the 4-6 best in the world at his weight on the bounce. Khan has fought has been's like barrera and "world class" opponents like michael gomez (khan's own words).
