Kessler's last fight with some strong management was for the Calzaghe fight - which btw. was the first fight where his manager and promoter since he was a teen was NOT at ringside. Since then his life has been up in the air, and he has spent much of his time in Spain, Thailand, Monaco etc.

In theory he really wants to win.... but it remains to be seen if he really has the urge to put in the hard work he did not put in for the past couple of years when he is not whipped (but rather is in charge).
